What's the average price people have paid for their 8800's? (preferably just the Set, not special contract rates etc). As here in Malta, the 8800 is selling for around $1120, which is pretty expensive for a phone, especially if the battery doesn't last a day. Please let me know what you've paid for your phones, except Ty, as i'm sorry to say, i don't value your opinion one bit.

Maybe because the 8800 is the ONLY thing that you actually own out of all the things you say you own? Or maybe it could be that if some poor soul DOES say hello to you, you shove the 8800 in their face before you have chance to say hello back.

        Star attraction -

My local mall has a Nikola store - they informed me the 8801 will be released in November/December in the U.S. at a price of 795 or 895.

I pulled out my 8800 from my shoulder holster, the Nokia guy pulled out a 8801 from the cabinet (a demo model only). A small crowed formed asking all sorts of quesitons.

I swear I get more attention from my 8800 then I do from my new 645 BMW or my new Sony TX ultralight latop! Can anyone explain why?

If the 8800 is such a bad phone, and you've had 5 (ALL with problems) and swore you'd never buy another one, can you Please tell me WHY you then bought one for your mom?, as all you've done is slate the phone, saying how truly awful it is.

First of all, I have a Nokia 9300, and am bored with it, as basically i'm a gadget freak and love mobile phones, i've had Loads of Nokia's , p800, p900, p910 etc and now I have the 9300.I'm SERIOUSLY considering the 8800 as it looks amazing, but as ppl have said, it's Expensive, not that I mind spending the cash if it exceeds my expectations, but i'm Worried about the Battery life, and I, like a lot of ppl who bought the 8800 don't really care about camera quality, music etc, as i have a good digital camera, and an iPod etc.
i've read all the reviews, and it seems VERY mixed, so i'm still pretty confused :/

Secondly TY wtf is your prob? this is a Phone
discussion forum. NOT a script from "Days of Our Lives", is your life really THAT sad, and to be honest, where did you study to become a doctor or whatever? cos you have serious trouble spelling.

i cant understand why people are constantly saying how poor this phone is, i got mine 3 days ago and have had no problems whatsoever, the screen is very clear, i have yet to have to charge the battery, the camera is good (bearing in mind as you cant actually take proper photo's of any professional quality unless it is at least 5MP), i wanted a phone that looks good, feels good, and does what i want and need from a phone, i have a digital camera so i dont need a camera on my phone, i have an MP3 player so i dont need that, the price of this phone doesnt concern me, it just means that the people buying this phone are people who can afford a top quality mobile phone that ticks all the boxes and covers them very well, i personally dont want to walk down the street and see 20 people using the same phone as me, its about distinction.

I decided to treat my key staff for our ten years together with the 8800 (with engraving). They were thrilled! Got a good quanity discount -850.00 US for seven phones.

That makes 11 I've purchased - without a single problem. Nokia has excellent quality control.

I'm first in line for the black version.

I brought my 6th 8800 . . . but this time is for my mother & not for myself. As I said before I will not buy another 8800 after my bad experience with FIVE of them !!!

My mom do not use another function except for making in & out calls. She just like the look, that's all !

As I said before, nothing good about this 8800 . . . except the look (if you like the look ) & the clear loud speaker !!!

You must ve crazy to purchase this handset. I owrk in the mobile phone industry and let me tell you that in my opinion this phone is a complete waste of money! If you want a phone that looks good then go for this one but if you want a phone with a few more extras then go for the 6230/6230i or Sony Ericsson W800/K750i. They are far superior handsets!! The camera on the 8800 is standard VGA, it hasn't got expandable memory and the internal mem' is only 64mb. Now some may say all they want a phone to do is make & receive call and texts. To that fair enough! But this phone has a off-line price tag of £599.99. Now take into account the price and the features it has it just ain't worth it. I've used one and was not at all impressed! Lou it!

just have to press the navigation key to the right when you are making a connected call.

I finally received my 8800 in South Africa. I waited forever and I still beleive this is the most amazing phone. This phone is incredibly loud when ringing. I don't know who could say it rings to soft. I have had it for a few days. I think the wait and price was worth it. The 1 day battery is not a concern. As long as it can get me through a day i'm happy. Nokia isn't the only manufacturer with low battery life. All the new features are the problem but 1 day is ok. Its almost a 6230i with a fancy design.. I think the 6230I is also a brilliant phone. I hope Nokia keep up the great designs on the 88xx series as I have had all of them and i've never been dissapointed.

yes m8, think of your house phone. if the caller id is not turned on do you get the name and number of people calling on your id screen??? same with mobiles. i sell phones and have had customers come to me with the same problem and i rang the provider and got it turned on for them and then the phone was working fine (and it was not just nokias it was samsungs and sony ericssons and motorolas that this has happened to). so to say that this is a bug with the 8800 is total crap. it could be the phone but all i said was to try and contact the service provider and make sure that the caller id is turned on in your account before throwing away what might be a perfectly working phone. it might be different in other countries than from where i'm from, but at least try it. all it will take is 5 mins of your time (maybe).
