rubish...nokia does not know what to make...nokia is out of ideas...too expensive phones...good but expensive...this rubbish is not worth the money.....i loved nokia now i stopped...i love SE...SE has briliant ideas and logical prices....SE rules now.....i bought my first non-nokia phone SE w800i and i love it...my old nokia 6600...was amazing 2...the smartphones 6600, 6630,6680 are nice but after them its all rubish..how can they compare w800i with n90...if n90 had better camera i wouldnt buy it...i hate the design..w800i has great design and colour....i hate phones with doors...and i loved nokia for that reason but now its rubbish......SONY ERICSSON RULES.....

hey i've gotten this phone ever since the have in the U.S . i like its design alot, cuz i am the nokia 8*** series fan alrite . those ppl who always complain about the camera, keypad and function can just shut up cuz this phone it's design for ppl who use luxery stuff, they don't made for you to take picture,or don't make to go online .. jezzzzzzz . if you want good picture buy a digital camera, and if you want an oganizer buy the pda ..they don't make a cell phone that almost $1k just to take picture think about it ..duh ......

haha.. good one applier. This phone's design is simple with a simple feature too for simple ppl hahaha.
no matter how exclusive it is, the design itself is too simple to be called as masterpiece---> some ppl say it looks like a dildo? haha.. very good one. It does actually, like if you open the phone, it really looks like it (i don't want to go further, but i think you got my point). hehehe. too simple!

          Hehehe...
          Design - not good.
          Features - not good.
          Performance - ok.

Not for rich but ignorant ppl. People who wanna be something they are not...

ppl can say whatever they want to...its a phone without a market.

            to jingle:
8800 is to ripped ppl money... simple!
is not meant for ppl who want exclusiveness really.. only for those whose money is just too much and do not know where to waste it simple!
design looks exclusive but more like a dildo even the mechanism system.. simple!

this phone is aimed directly at the Motorola RAZR V3 handset which is at the exclusive money-no-object end of the market. I however believe Motorola wins in the Looks category at least

I can't believe that something so expensive does not come with a basic ringtone such as "Ring Ring".....this is really silly and made worse by the fact that newer Nokia handsets will no longer have "Ring Ring" as a supplied default ringtone (according to the Nokia service centre I spoke to). THis is just plain daft and inconvenient for all Nokia users.

Anyone know where I can find a basic "Ring Ring" ringtone that can be used on the 8800?

                    Thanks.

                        Hey everyone.
I think that the phone is good, but only that the price is very high. i do not se why is expensive for only the look of it. the N series are much better in kind of option.but well everyone are not as me soo.

yes... yes... good job 'reader'!!! i support wat you say.. i hate those who say that ppl who bash this phone are ppl who cannot pay for the phone.. just to remind.. Those of us who can afford to buy a phone, even for the cheapest one are ppl who can afford for the most expensive phone. It will be better if we say those who do not want to buy expensive phone are those who do not want to spent so much on mobile phone and wise.

My wife surprised me and is having her purse-and-shoe man make me a calf-skin leather ankle holster for my 8800. Because I wear greens in the hospital, she thought this would be most convenient. I really like the idea of it!

Also, for jogging I am now thinking of having a shoulder holster fabricated at the same time (one compartment for the Nokia, one for the spare battery, and the third for my iPod). If anyone has done the same, what kind of material did you use? And did you use contrasting stitching for your embroidered initials?

Comparing the 8xxx series at the time it comes out, 8850 is the best so far. This 8800 is not appealing seriously to me... Is it because of Nokia that a lot of dumbers out there are willing to pay money for this overpriced phone? ... Let's say if we remove the word "Nokia" from the phone and labeled it as "Sky", do you think anyone would buy? ... My point is that dumbers out there just pay because it is Nokia.

But, I'm as a consumer, do not pay bindly. I would judge for the phone justification. I as a consumer demand not only quality but price justification. You may laugh at me that I must be poor, you may. But at the end of the day, I am smart enough to buy what I pay for.

                              Thanks....

First of all i like to say that i think that a dildo is somewhat different in shape than the Nokia 8800.

But hopefully not everybody calls mobile phones like this

I (as a salesconsultant) have sold this phone to about 5 people now (the phone isn't very long on the dutch market). And my observations are, that the people that are interested in this phone aren't interested in the phone's so-called camera or MP3 player. but only in its "exlusiveness" and its looks.

And there is nothing wrong with that...

if people are willing to spend a lot of money on their mobile phone it is their right. and if those people are happy with the phone its all good.

i've read a lot of opinions about this phone on this site and i think that a lot of opinions aren't backed up with arguments but they are just saying that the phone is good and others say its a bad phone

in the end its your own choice if you want to buy / use this phone.

thank you for reading and a pleasant day

Look is very personal! The look of this phone is not bad at all.....at least the size is good. I personally prefer sliding phone!
The screen of this phone is very bright & clear.
The voice quality & the loud speaker is great.
                                  Reception fine.
The feel of the phone is nice.
                                  BUT............
The platfrom is old (series 40).
The keys are difficult to use (too small & hence always press the wrong key.....even Nokia sales complain).
                                  Battery life extremely shoet.
The worst thing is that every single one of these 8800 hang...in one way or another!!!
Nokia official agent in Hong Kong agree there is a software problem (wonder why there is no new software from Nokia to upgrade this 8800 to make it more stable!!!)

                                      Hey Rune,

maybe you dont get the phone market. To you maybe the N90/91 looks better has betta features but I believe many people out there like the Nokia 8800 for its looksnot features.

N90/91 has its features but not its looks (you have to admit its big and not sleek to put in a shirts pocket). People that buy that phone will for sure go only for features.

I'll put it simple, its easy to find a phone with a lot of features due to technology improvimg every day but its hard to find a phone that looks good and is rare in some kind of way.

The 8800 is expensive but overall it depends on the person. Its either feature or looks the choice is the consumer.

People that say how crap this phone is, is the kind of people I say that goes for features. The people that praise this phone even though its expensive is the person that likes to be original.

                                      Hope I didnt offend you.

                                        Neil Wedkind.

You keep saying that it is an exclusive phone because Nokia keeps the price at such a high level. What is it that is so exclusive about the 8800? Your telling me that the exclusive thing with the phone is the PRICE nothing else, and that is why people should buy it ???? People should buy a phone because of the high price??? Do you see the stupidity in your argument??? How many bottles of tequila have you been drinking :o)

I can`t realy see anything that would make it as exclusive as you want it to be (No high price theories thank you), even the design is not as good as N90/91. To think Nokia will keep the price of the 8800 at this level for a long time is plain silly. Everything comes down to demand and supply. When people stop buying the 8800 because other phones can do the job better and have better design N90/91, they will cut the price on the 8800. To think otherwise is to live in a dream. Nokia is a company which will not give up profit because they want to keep a phone "exclusive". Honestly I must say that it is much more exclusive to own a N90/91, the price is the same as the 8800.

Everyone who has money to buy N90/91 could just as well have bought the 8800, and believe me there are many of us. The price of the 8800 is not realy so high, everyone who works can afford it. People do not chose to but N90/91 because they are less exclusive but because they look better and are better. The 8800 is in a dificult situation because it is not good enough or exclusive enough to compete with N90/91 yet the price is the same. The 8800 will slowly go into the darkness.
