just wondering which colour to get...ive heard the black isnt as charming as the silver....plus finger smuges are a problem in the black...

Buy this phone for its look & feel, not for its technology. I've had this phone for over a month, and I'm quite happy with it. The scratch-resistant glass, all-metal body, sturdy build, good weight, and soothing sounds are quite nice.
Yes, it doesn't have all of the tech features like some phones (N95, etc.), but that's not why people buy this phone. The Sirocco is almost like the Mercedes of phones -- it's not the most expensive model, it doesn't have the biggest or fastest "engine" (ie: not the biggest or fastest processor), it's not the most feature-packed, but it is very cool and classy and deserving of its luxury status.
Are there more expensive phones than the Sirocco and more expensive cars than a Mercedes? Yes. Are there phones and cars with more features than the Sirocco and Mercedes, respectively? Yes. But, they're both classy enough, good-looking enough, and have enough "wow" factor to be more than worthy of purchase.

Can somebody PLEASE tell me why this phone is so expensive?!! It's ridiculous! No special functions and not even one diamond on it!

Hey, don't argue about it. Different people have different idea. For me, I love this phone, and I have one too. I bought it when i went to visit my country 3 months ago. It's right that this phone doesn't have many functions like other Nokia, but what makes it expensive is the look and the material that it's made.

Well this handset is NOT in gold, its the same old N8800 (non-sirocco) in gold

its not a bad phone. i've had mine for a few months. but it does nothing special. same functions as the 2 year old 6230i. it weighs a ton too. still, it looks nice

this phone is not for people who need lot of features it depends on the person.
this phone is for people who dont use any features or dont even know how to oprate phones and people like them are proud to have that phone

I bought this phone last year before Christmas and my battery life is minimum 5 days with talking and on stand by is 8 days :) And i have some words for those who don`t like this phone. Wake up guys !!! Phones are made to talk and send SMS`s . If you want something else go and buy a COMPUTER . Negative peoples are writing here for 2 reasons :
They don`t have money and they want this phone
They want games , camera .....(Go and buy a sony camera and a computer and download a program to make phone calls ..)
Phones are made for design , to call your friends and send SMS`s to girls :)))

What do you mean crap, it's garbage! This 8800 is probably the worst Nokia phone I ever owned. Nokia should recall this model as a token to all the people that purchased this phone. I a big Nokia fan if you can beleive that?

this phone only looks great. a nice show off phone but if you look for better camera phones and so on i wouldnt buy this. had too many probs with it so i just sold it.

Koureas G i can see what your saying, and yer fair enough, but i'm sure theres more to the phone than just the look, games etc, hardly any1 plays bcuz itz extra, you need a phone to make phone calls, the extra features like only 9% of people use to full advantage, so i think the phone is better than many say, buh i see what your saying, good point ;-)

I have this nokia 8800 and the phone looks absolutly great but thats about it the camera is crap the games are crap the functions and speakers are yes crap and the battery live is absolute crap I ould not advise anyone to purchase this phone unless you want it for the look then I understand but people are right its the biggest waste of money I have ever spent and I rate it 2/10 and thats just for looks thanks for reading hope you take note think first!

To Timbo and others:
There are two categories of people posting here.
Those who want their phone to be first of all useful,functional,with good performance and then how it looks and those who set as an only priority to have a phone that is pretty to show off with it.
I belong in the first category and as a user of all high-end Nokia 8-series phones i have to state that Nokia SE doesn’t justify its value of money but it’s only a subjectively pretty phone.
I wouldn’t have a problem if it was a good, useful (which it’s not) expensive phone.
Nokia 8800 and SE are two overpriced marketing tricks products without substance . It’s not a matter of money but simply i don’t want to be ripped off.
We don’t buy expensive things to feel special and to show off. We buy them because
they make the difference and respond to their use, quality and value of money.
You don’t have to criticize others because they have different opinion than yours.
Everyone has the right to say his/her opinion even if it’s positive/negative or you agree/disagree with them.
Too much discussion and argument for nothing and for things that everyone has different point of view and opinion.

i have one of these, and the thing is, true its expensive, but its not expensive when it comes with the contract. the battery life is fairly poor, around 1-2days and then its back to the charger. but the design and few features more than makes up for the overall phone, it has a camera, it has gprs, its got sms, phone, a few games and apps, and thats fine by me
