zorbale, 17 Aug 2019I'm considering Nokia 8.1 and Redmi K20 Pro... Which one sh... moreShort answer is:
Get Nokia 8.1 for better camera and quality.
Get K20 Pro for better gaming and full screen display.
If you aren't after best possible gaming and don't have a display preference between IPS LCD (realistic colours) and Super AMOLED (fake colours but better visibility under sunlight), then your only reason for buying K20 Pro should be notch less/full display.
K20 Pro selfie cam has f/2.2 aperture which is quite poor. At worst, most phones in this price offer f/2. It affects how much details a camera can capture and noise management in low light.
The main camera is quite decent if there is enough light (f/1.8, 1/2). It's capable of capturing slightly better but almost unnoticeable more details than Nokia 8.1 (since both have f/1.8). 2nd camera is a telephoto lens to zoom in without losing too much details and 3rd is ultra wide angle camera.
But it's main camera is 0.8um. Cameras with 0.8um need software to artificially make pictures brighter in low light. Huawei does it quite well but quality isn't as good as daylight (noise, inaccurate colours, loss of details).
- Ultra wide camera is not as good as main camera so details on sides will be lower. It's also turned off if there isn't enough light and also if you take pictures in high MP settings.
- Telephoto lens is also not as good as main camera but it helps if you want to zoom in. It is also turned off if there isn't enough light and pictures are zoomed in digitally instead. Not sure if it works in high MP mode.
Nokia 8.1 main camera is also quite decent (f/1.8, 1/2.55). It has 1.4um which is very high. Generally speaking, anything above 1.14um performs decently in low light and 1.4um captures at least 40% more light than 1.12um.
It also has OIS. It moves the lens to cancel out handshake, further capture more light and details, further significantly improving low light performance.
In short, Nokia 8.1 has better selfie camera and better all rounder main camera. While K20 Pro has more feature rich main camera at the cost of picture quality.
- K20 Pro has bigger battery and more battery efficient chipset. Although, it has MIUI so in heavy workload like PUBG, it will last same as Nokia 8.1 which gets the advantage of Android One.
You can take example of Nokia 8 (3000 mAh battery) and Pocofone F1 (4000 mAh battery). They last about same amount of time in PUBG despite Pocofone F1 having more battery efficient chipset.
- K20 Pro has MUCH more powerful chipset (SD 855) than Nokia 8.1, which is where it is truly superior. It *should* be able to handle PUBG on Ultra HD with 45-60 FPS.
Nokia 8 with SD 835 handles PUBG on Ultra HD with around 30-40 FPS and SD 855 is at least 50% more powerful.
Nokia 8.1 (SD 710) can handle PUBG on HDR with 40-60 FPS, so its performance is quite good as well.

Shalya., 16 Aug 2019I was told there is no much difference in 7.1 and 8.1 excep... moreBesides the processor, there are a couple of differences. The display of the Nokia 8.1 is bigger, it's released with Android Pie and the Nokia 7.1 with Oreo, so the 7.1 already had 1 major OS update, the 8.1 not. Then there's the battery, 3500mah vs. 3060. Both phones are very solid and well build, but I'd go for the Nokia 8.1 if I were you.

Ibadat, 14 Aug 2019I want to purchase a phone but stuck between Samsung a50 an... moreI've used A50 and there is no room to be confused between these two phones. There is no A series phone that is worth buying except for A10, but that lacks many features.
Go for Nokia 8.1 or Realme 3 Pro.
A50 camera is supposed to rival Realme 3 Pro and Nokia 8.1 but it's very very bad. I don't mean slightly poor than its competitors, I mean it can't even compare to Nokia 7 Plus and many other lower priced phones.
Realme 3 Pro main camera is as good as iPhone 8 and better than iPhone 7 Plus. Don't know how 8.1 compares to it, but its camera specs set high expectations.
A50 performance is average. You should have high expectations about performance in this price range. A50 only gives 30 FPS in high graphics on PUBG, which is same as Nokia 7 Plus and other SD 660, Kirin 710, Helio P60 & P70 phones. Even Realme 3 can do that and it costs 30% of its price.
Nokia 8.1 and Realme 3 Pro give 40-60 FPS, which is a big difference. They're the top phones in this price range.
