Nokia 8.1 have very many problems/bugs, both hardware and software! On of those problems is the screen flickering at extremely low 75.76 Hz at below 10 percent brightness, causing eyestrain and headaches after extended use, and that is a big problem because Nokia 8.1 screen too often go below 10 percent brightness to save battery making if too dark to use!
Nokia 8.1 also have very slow internal eMMC flash storage, and a screen with a 0.61 cd/m² black value, which results in an underwhelming 930:1 contrast ratio.

ASTROS, 17 Jun 2019Ya its very durable and even better than other gorilla glas... moreNot solid at all.. Very poor resistance. I would not recommend. All front and back windows are awfull, they break waaay to easely, we had that in booth of our 8.1 phones.

From notebookcheck about Nokia 8.1 screen:
The display backlight flickers at 75.76 Hz (Likely utilizing PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 10 % and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting.
The frequency of 75.76 Hz is very low, so the flickering may cause eyestrain and headaches after extended use.

Sean, 14 Jun 2019Not with my 8.1 I have had it for 3 months so far with no p... moreGood for u man but i have experienced bugs like my phone was automatically switching to vibrate mode so I had to reset the phone and it was working fine until recently the phone's screen started to freeze and would recover when I power off and on the screen. I know that this will also get fixed when I reset the phone since it is a software bug but the point is that a phone so costly and with a powerful 710 soc should not perform as such and also the company is now selling this phone at 70% of its original price and even Chinese phones do not get such huge price cut in such a short period of time meaning that this phone was way overpriced for its mediocre performance.

mehtasameer2087, 15 Jun 2019Very strange ,it could be a problem of either software or h... more That's strange. Even i had same experience 2-3 times recently after pie update on my Nokia 6 2017. But the issue was something different.
All of sudden my fingerprint was not recognised. And for my surprise there was no fingerprint. Later i used pin to unlock phone. Then checked the settings. No fingerprints were found.
The funniest thing happened now. I started setting up my fingerprint. I used my left & right thumb earlier. So tried to give same. Now i got error. Please try to set different finger. Later tried different one. After that i was able to unlock phone with my previous fingerprint & new one. But earlier fingerprint was not shown anywhere.

Hi, I'd like to write something about phone( Nokia 8.1) I paid for, about one month ago.
First three weeks eweything was perfeck, one morning I have noticed that finger scener is not working and in " settings" there was no posibility to find it. Phone is now on servis and nobody could tell me what is going on?????

GCam night mode is way better than Nokia auto night shots. Nokia camera better for daylight as GCam too dark

hi guys am new to this nokia 8.1 club. Accidentally i landed here as my nokia 7 plus gave some issues and i send it for service and later i wrote to hmd global and nokia india and they gave me with this new phone as replacement. its been a day using this device, so far so good. fluidity is excellent and processor SD710 works quite fast
