pls is a screen protector really necessary on this phone?? I got one immediately after I bought it but it doesn't perfectly fit the screen and ruins the experience in full bezel mode...

is it truee that this phone can't play files with 4gb+ size?

I'm on Marc... moreI tried this phone in a shop a 2 of months ago and really wanted to buy it, but what I really noticed it's not fast as they told. When I just press usual apps like calls, contacts, messages stuff like that then the apps don't appear very quickly but with some visible delay, about 1 sec. I don't know if it's due to 710 proc or maybe Nokia OS itself has such bugs but it's fact. So I decided not to buy it. At the same time interesting that Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 with 636 proc such apps open even faster. So whats' wrong with Nokia ?

Loving this phone after 4 weeks usage. Camera is excellent in all conditions, surprised me in lowlight too. Battery is great, performance smooth and fast, build and screen excellent. Only negatives are wide notch and front camera is not the best

Thank you very much for your help. I think I'll go for Nokia 7 plus though, I know that Nokia 8.1 is overall a slightly better phone. But the price seems to be too high compared to Nokia 7 plus, it's $150 difference in my country, so Nokia 7 plus seems to be a good deal. Specs are not that better in Nokia 8.1 and I appreciate larger battery.

Trayor, 24 Apr 2019I would like to ask you about your opinion because I don't ... more8.1 would be the choice if price is not of concern
Sd710 more power efficient and faster than 660,
Pureview display and that makes a big difference albiet the large notch
Build quality is premium class ,not metal thoug
And above all the best cameras,it beats 7plus very easy especially in night shots as it has ois and better camera hardware with functional AI ,AI is just a joke on 7plus ,in night scenes AI does help, had 7 plus for a year and upgraded to 8.1,the difference is subtle but you will feel it,you can check the review links I have posted.

Forgot to ask, as I have seen some of you guys facing either hardware or software problems while others don't, I'm wondering wheather it is due to different batches of production. Can anyone facing the issues tell me the manufacturing date of the phone? Usually it should be printed somewhere on the box? Not sure though...

However, if you don't handle huge files transfer or high spec gaming, it should be fine as there is no difference in speed for regular uses. What worry me is its degradation in speed(results in lagging) over time.

BTW, mine will be delivered by May 18. I'm still skeptical wheather I should get 8.1 or BB Key 2. I am a huge fan of Nokia back during window OS but I'm an even bigger fan of BB back in its hayday. However, key2 is a bit pricey and without authorized seller so I need to take risks with local carrying shops. Now logical thinking versus emotional thought eh..

Trayor, 24 Apr 2019I would like to ask you about your opinion because I don't ... moreMy personal daily driver is Nokia 7 Plus and I have had no issues with it and I am using this device for almost a year now. If you wish to go for Nokia 7 Plus then there are pros and cons

                            Pros
                            1. Larger battery at 3800mah vs 3500mah on 8.1(X7)
                            2. Notch free display
                            3. Solid metal build
                            4. Lesser price

                            Cons
                            1. Android 8.1 out of the box (though 9.0 upgrade is already available)
                            2. Thicker bezels
                            3. Snapdragon 660 vs Snapdragon 710 on Nokia 8.1(X7)

I would still recommend you to go for Nokia 7 Plus as I have personally used it and it still handles anything I throw at it

I would like to ask you about your opinion because I don't have a deep knowledge about smartphones market: I have an opportunity to buy Nokia 7 Plus which price is 65-70% of Nokia 8.1 in my country. Is Nokia 8.1 worth such difference and is it much better than Nokia 7 plus? Thank you for any advice!
