The X7(64GB) is only sold for about US$275 on Nokia China website. Is this 8.1 really the same phone as X7? Anyone know why the 8.1 cost US$450? This is so much more expensive.

Also, they never do research, they just copy paste, of course is cheaper, but not for long. Apparently, this knock off devices have allready pased 600$ barier, it means: it ain't cheap sonny!.

Too expensive. Should be $350 at max. Blame it on Pocophone. The 8.1 has better build and better software but loses in cpu and gpu power, rom+ram and battery. $450 is just pushing it too far, add $50-100 more you can get a Oneplus 6/6T (which is far better and imo is totally worth paying the extra)

It is a disadvantage that Nokia 8.1 has not an FM radio...

Kollaaahrov, 02 Dec 2018NFC? The 8.1 has it. X7 doesn't. I'm glad they take this approach (following the example of 6.1). Unlike X6 where NFC still omitted on 6.1 Plus.

That name reminds me of Windows 8.1

They do seem to work hard on fixing them, but it shows their quality assurance is lacking. In my opinion Xiaomi will be a major option in a year or 2, but for now I'd rather stick with Samsung (great screens and camera, good all-round), Huawei/Honor (value and battery) and Nokia (durability and updates).

Really hoping it doesn't have any issues. This device has the best balance between Chipset, Battery & OS in its price range (Xiaomi's lack of reliability makes it not count).
