I mean you can't even send a photo or MP3 to another device, it doesn't even support MP3 files. That is pretty pathetic. Besides the Nokia 8.3 is 579 euro here, whereas the iPhone 12 is 909 euro. That's not 20 USD more, that is 391 USD more...

Since when companies like that are transparent with their customers? Especially companies like xi o mi who makes money out of customers data, else how would they sell their devices for a lot less then normal? Of course their are other factors that help them selling for less, like no innovation, everything being plain copy pasted, from idea to implementation...hack even design they do small modifications to make it even uglier and sell it as xiaomi. So less money in research, or for some of their devices that are dirt cheep like poco spy, they actually use third class hardware batches and generally very cheap materials so they can reach that level of crappy goods. If you think they come cheap because the company is great and not greedy, well think again. They actually make a lot of money out of you. This days after-sale money making is the real deal. Apple with their locked ecosystem and some Android oem's with their spy-ing. Chinaware for sure knows how to milk this section. So yeah, i'd rather buy fairphone 300 times before any chinaware enters my home. P.s if you really want to see what your "device" is doing, better start monitoring DNS requests. You'll be surprised. And that is just scratching the surface. Learn some networking and what TCP and UDP are and that will probably convince you to start carring more about what actually you buy, maybe it will also awake some principles in you. As supporting such companies is like killing western industry, developement and innovation. The more you buy crapp, the more it will spread, the less will companies care about making something better as they see, people don't care.

Anonymous, 12 Oct 2020For me, still Nokia is better than LG & Xiaomi because ... morei use a xiaomi device for more than a year now... there are a lot of ways to configure this phone so it doesn't leak any sensitive info. also they can't sell it if it leaks info. there are a lot of ways you can check this. i have and nothing goes out wothout permission. please be sure to take your time and run through all the settings before using it fully. the value of xiaomi phones is unbeatable. there is so much you can get done with $250 device if you do your research. i'm not new to android, i know what i need... for me paying $600 for a mobile device is pointless. if i need that computing power i will just buy a $ 1000 PC and it will last me a good 10 years untill it becomes obsolete.
