The memory capacity is quite bad

LAW321, 22 May 2020No you are wrong, Nokia 7.2 is the real successor of Nokia ... moreI meant to say the start was Nokia 6 followed by Nokia 6.1 then Nokia 7.1 and finally Nokia 7.2. Nokia reviewed their lineup in 2019 and every model went one rank higher. Like 6.1 successor became 7.1.

Bharath Kumar, 22 May 2020You are right my friend, the market is flooded with large s... morethat 6.8 inch screen decision was made because of a separate and big RF band module since it is first phone in the market to support all 5g band and it also consumes ton of power so they putted a big battery but initially 3500 mah battery was planned to be putted in

RishiGuru, 14 May 2020Carol it was so nice chatting with you. Good quality conver... moreNo you are wrong, Nokia 7.2 is the real successor of Nokia 7.1 and not Nokia 6.

This very disappointing the battery and the proccesor are okay but no amoled srsly? for 600euros?

Bharath Kumar, 22 May 2020You are right my friend, the market is flooded with large s... moreI agree all manufacturers should have models big & small to satisfy every segment of their customers. But right now Nokia does not seem to have the luxury, and as you rightly pointed out both Nokia 6.2 & Nokia 7.2 shares maybe 90% of parts to keep the overall production cost low.

As my primary phone, there are many. I switch between many of my smartphones on a weekly basis. Currently it rotates between LG V30+, Honor View 10, Nokia 7 Plus, Samsung Note 10, Oppo Find X, Sony Xperia XZ1 & Meizu 16th. I love different flavors, compact phones like 16th and also large screen ones like Note 10. Both have their pros and cons. Each manufacturer bringing a new flavor, a new experience.

I also try to be as brand neutral as possible. Sticking to one brand too long will make you love that brand because you are getting accustomed to their features and the habit just grows. Next everything else from other manufacturers seems bad. Its a physiological thing. Blind brand fans generally fall into this trap, as they go on using a specific brand mobile phones for ages and gets habituated to that ecosystem of the manufacturer unable to change later. So the tendency becomes not to change. I do not want to fall into this trap.

RishiGuru, 21 May 2020Have you ever wondered why the market is flooded with large... moreYou are right my friend, the market is flooded with large screen phones due to customers want. A quick re-call, when mobiles were having only 4 or 4.5 inch screens, users loved the 5.5 and 5.7 for better viewing and reading experience. But today most of the manufacturers are taking over-advantage of the users want, meaning bloating the actual needs of the user for manufacturer profits. There has to be a perfect range in smartphone sizes but companies manufacture super large devices and blame the consumers as what they wanted. Although some manufacturers really invest a lot to fulfil the consumer needs and earn the profit, others bloat/modify the actual needs just to make profits. I dont know how rich Nokia is but they could have retained their 6 series phones in the compact category. Just for component and hardware sharing they increased the size of 6.2 model to same as 7.2. I hope Nokia does not need Luxury to retain a particular series for compact segment. Let there be 80% of large phones for majority and at least 20% in compact segment, meaning real compacts like less than 140-145mm height with good screen to body ratio. Large sized mobile may be a trend today, but a trend is like the weather, it comes and goes. Again, I hope the upcoming 6.3 is one good compact smart phone. Until then my 3yr old compact Moto G4 Play is my companion. Whats your everyday mobile my friend, if I can ask...

RishiGuru, 21 May 2020Have you ever wondered why the market is flooded with large... moreFor this 8.5's case though, it seems Nokia is incompetent to make it small while including the 5G components. I mean, man, look at its size...it's absurdly huge...and having a behemothic thickness of 9mm.

Bharath Kumar, 21 May 2020My friend, if they are making smaller phone at the same pri... moreHave you ever wondered why the market is flooded with large screen phones? It is because what majority of the customers want. And smartphones companies only cares about the majority, about the latest trends because there is where money lies.

You fall under the minority category who likes small phones. Now manufactures like Apple & Samsung who have a lot on money and are not as cash strapped like Nokia makes phones of two sizes, a big and a small. However Nokia does not have that luxury.

Nokia does not like to make big phones. They are an European based company and the trend there is to make small phones that fit your palms easily and one handed operation is easy. That's why Nokia's first flagship under HMD Global, the Nokia 8 display was just 5.3 inches (16:9) when other manufactures were pushing to 5.7 inches (16:9) or 6.0 (18:9) diagonal. Due to tremendous market pressure to make large screen phones, Nokia is compelled to follow as their where money lies.

RishiGuru, 19 May 2020Do you think these smartphone manufacturers are crazy pumpi... moreMy friend, if they are making smaller phone at the same price not much they can save, but if they save and that is not transitioned to the end consumer the product will flop. On the other side, with compact dimension the real estate to place the battery and other hardwares is a much harder task than placing these on bigger real estate. I don’t mind if bigger screens are given for gaming centric phones as most of the time I or gamers out there use both hands or gamepad. But this 8.3 is a normal phone and hence the large screen does not make sense here. Moreover there are folks who still love compact phones with good features. The problem is only very few manufacturers understand the importance of one hand use like iPhone 12 or the Galaxy S10e. Waiting eagerly for Nokia 6.3 as the rumour suggests single handed use because the market if flooded with super large phones.

Stephen Taylor, have already joined as new Chief Marketing Officer after jumping ship from Samsung. And now Adam Ferguson, will take on the role of Head of Product Marketing after jumping ship from OnePlus.

Please make compact model like 6.1 plus 5.8 Inch screen

Nokia has almost vanished from the market thanks to stupid management that didn't see the tendency to larger screens.
Now, that they connected again to the market with larger screens, do you really mean they should go back to where they were?

I came across this site looking for Nokia and their larger phones. The only reason!!!!

I believe their quality is better than the chinese quality, so I try to escape from chinese market and their insufficient goods.

It is simply lovely to see texts and pictures in larger screens. That saves me from needing tablets besides of a phone.

Bharath Kumar, 18 May 2020171.9mm of height, seriously...this mobile owner's tailor i... moreDo you think these smartphone manufacturers are crazy pumping out one after the other big screen phones? I mean a bigger display will always cost more to the manufacturer than a smaller one. They could have made a smaller phone at the same price and it would have helped them save some money.

Or due you think there is a real demand for big display phones worldwide and only after doing proper market surveys all top manufacturers are making big display phones? Personal I believe they do not care about old or new customers. They only care about better revenue.. so if their marketing team says make a bigger phone because their is where money is .. they make bigger phones.

And in return they are indirectly indicating those customers who always complain about bigger phones to get better prepared to use both hands in the future.

171.9mm of height, seriously...this mobile owner's tailor is gonna be tough time.

In the global pandemic situation where we all are confined to our homes, I had a nice chat with one my old friends. Say what, he has both Nokia 7 Plus & Nokia 7.2. He is really impressed with the 7.2 and how good all-rounder of a phone is. But still the Nokia 7 Plus is the better phone for him and still remains him primary device. To each his own. But then the 7.2 was never the successor of 7 Plus on the first place. 7.2 is the real successor of Nokia 6.
