After 5 mins of using Asha 501 it was not impressive. The screen resolution is bad. No apps such as whatsapp .Spending Rs 5k on such a phone is not worth it. Would I not spend it on a something like Micromax which would give me an Android (agreed it will be slow and buggy however i still will have latest apps ) for that money. Dont get me wrong the Asha OS is quite impressive however it belongs in the low cost entry level phones. Nokia should port this to the sub Rs 2000 phones and give better value/app ecosystem at higher prices.

This little thing is very promising, the only drawback for me is the lack of equalizer in the music player. Other than that, i don't mind. I think it also has great battery life. . :D

User, 30 Jul 2013I'm terribly angry and want to bang the head of guys who ma... moreThe device and it's software is relatively new. i am sure Whatsapp will be brought to this device in some time. Unfortunately, as far as i can see, the whatsapp developers are not very interested in Asha series and only some time ago made it possible for the 2 sim devices. So, you will you be needing some patience, cause they will have to make it for 501 dual-sim to.

I don't owe this phone:). though, is the first asha device that i want to put my hand on to test it's stability. Unfortunately, in Europe appeared only a couple of days ago (at least, where i live) and only online and it's 100 euros. Much more then in India. Waiting for it to hit the stores. Anyway, back to headphones: i never heard of a Nokia device to be locked from other headphones. Maybe there are some headphones with mic. incorporated that this device will not support, and not only this. i'm sure iphone or samsung will not support my original N8 headphones. I'm also 99 percent sure normal headphones like the one you talked about will work without problems. But you can wait for the guys response about the headphones he used, just to be sure. Also, other guys who owes the device can give you the confirmation of my 99% word:)

People expect to much from very cheap phones. Now, i was talking about Samsung cause their so called high end headsets does not work in other devices then s3 s4 and what other models there are. wasn't accusing you of nothing, was just question. This is the first time when i hear that a Nokia device does not support other headphones...

Hey guys,i got a canvas hd,superb phone by the way,but the battery as usual with androids,was the drawback
So i bought this 501 also.
Believe me its a good phone
All of us should know yaar,5000 ain't a sum to expect hoverview.....i mean cmon.....u guys are cribbing over hardware issues,headphone colours?really?
Just go for it.....its a refreshingly new look and trust me,i am an android freak and desperately m waiting for key lime pie.....but this phone is awesome..if not perfect

I use samsung and nokia 501 both.but samsung is best.in this set hanging problem n os is not fast.

Wifi works just awesome with this phone, i hope next asha phone would be atleast 3.5'' screen size as browsing net is not so joyful with tiny 3 inch screen.
