OMG !! How ugly is this phone !! To bad that Nokia is not the Nokia I knew and loved ... Nokia today is just a simple name and that is it ... If Nokia would try to make a phone with Android OS and a much better desing than this I think it is goind to sell much better than this Windows OS and Asha OS ... Nokia is behing the market with 3 years ! I stoped buying Nokia from a very long time ago because of the cheap phones they made and still making !! I had a Nokia C5-00 brand new and it stayed in the service almost al the time ...

I envy this phone! I bought a Nokia Asha 311 like three months ago because I thought it is the flagship among Asha series then suddenly this phone come out of the hive. However if they'd make another Asha smartphone in the same OS like this one's, with Corning Gorilla Glass and 3G, I'll really be jealous. Really.

Guys, Its a S40. I'm currently using C2-03 and I think one will face the same problem using it. Actually if u use ur mob only for sms and call its ok otherwise don't even think for it.

As a mobile developer for Android and Bada this Asha platform is hard to develop for. There are no standard user interface elements like buttons etc which can be use out of the box. This makes porting from Android a whole lot of work. If Nokia wants overrule Android which they want they should make developer as easy as possible.

1) UI is horrible, cheap 262K colors with only 133 ppi. Just imagine how ugly the display will be. Current asha touch phones have 155 ppi.
2) the design isnt actually outstanding. Its ugly to look at and its fatty. Why nokia didnt give a Flash with its camera? This stupid 501 even cant play VGA video. Only QVGA@15fps! Woof! You Cheater

i think it's a meego (maybe a lite version). and nokia change the OS name not using java. meego wanna be not iphone wanna be :)
