These are the things that make this phone affordable to the masses. If you look, this phone won't be going to the US. It'll be heading over to Asia and other developing markets. Do the rural parts of India and China have 3G coverage? Do you think that Kazakhstan, Iran and Iraq have country-wide 4G connections? No. They don't. If you think every phone should have a brilliant camera, a huge screen and the latest OS then be thankful you don't have a job in Marketing, or you'd be sending companies bankrupt. This phone is going to be sold for £65 ($99) which is a phenomenal price for a phone which isn't exactly going to be lacking in features for users who have been struggling to get away from an old Nokia 5000 or even 3310!
The market is full of cheap little Android phones which don't run particularly well on the 2G network. They require 3G and above. This phone sits at the top end of the market just below the Samsung Rex or HTC Desire. If you could have a phone that could make calls consistently, send SMS's consistently and even open basic web pages consistently, OR a phone that is power thirsty, can do everything but wipe your backside yet can't make calls because your country doesn't have the technology, which are you to choose? Nokia have done the smart thing and aimed at the ones who don't sit there posting about how everything but the iPhone is terrible and how the whole world would be better off if Samsung designed everything in it. If you can't see why Nokia will sell millions of this phone, you don't deserve the internet.

nokia asha 501 is better for range of 5500 nice phone tuch is better in this phone and the battery life is low every thing k..... in this phone nice

yes it good to have smart phone under 6000Rs, but it should content feature like LCD flash, secondary camera, video in fps, gprs will be added advantage

Chieffos, 13 May 2013I feel this whol thing is beginin to thin in, nokia will ma... morenokia is not st***d to release the new asha software platform to the existing phones if they do so the new models will not sell. so be happy with what you have...if you need to experience something new, then buy new models with the latest software.
