Go to Settings >> Phone Update and then turn off the update button. And now turn it on, wait for 30-40 seconds and there will be update available...

finaly updated my nokia 501,whats app running.nokia could have added some new home screens,video player still not playing all formats,i will wait for the next version update,may this gets resolved.

in Rs. 4500 this phone is excellent easy ...cute..nice..
1. good battery backup..spent upto 3 days without charging
2. useful apps for common use..
3. better 3.2 mp camera
all over this phone is a better option at such a low range mobile phone

Finally, WhatsApp is now available.
I had just updated my NA501 with the newer version 11.1.1 and downloaded WhatsApp and it is working finely
File Size of Update : 6.9 MB
Changes which I found after the update are as follows :
1] WhatsApp is available :P (Biggest problem is solved).
2] Downloading speed has increased as compared before the update.
3] Mobile is not hanging while typing the text when the downloading is going on.
4] We can now delete unwanted Apps from the Fastlane individually.
5] Changes in the structure of Emoticons.
6] We can now share Files, Images, Videos, etc. directly from the Gallery which was earlier not possible.
7] Does anybody noticed that the second biggest problem after the WhatsApp is also got solved. Yes, now we can keep the camera sounds 'Off' after the update.
