For update follow this steps
1. Go to ur phone settings
2. Click on phone update...here u must have mobile data or wifi connection
3. Click on update..and wait for few seconds
4.then download recent software...then also u get whatsapp

Whatsapp now avilable on Nokia Asha 501..I update my phone This Version Is-11.1.1 and Nokia Asha Software Platform 1.1...

as i download whatsapp, it wanted to update mobile and i download 6.9mb file,then it told that mobile will restart,but after switch off,it doesn't open and i can't use mobile, please help somebody !

Yes, yes, yes......
Finally, WhatsApp is now available.
I had just updated my NA501 with the newer version 11.1.1 and downloaded WhatsApp and it is working finely
File Size of Update : 6.9 MB
Changes which I found after the update are as follows :
1] WhatsApp is available :P (Biggest problem is solved).
2] Downloading speed has increased as compared before the update.
3] Mobile is not hanging while typing the text when the downloading is going on.
4] We can now delete unwanted Apps from the Fastlane individually.
5] Changes in the structure of Emoticons.
6] We can now share Files, Images, Videos, etc. directly from the Gallery which was earlier not possible.
7] Does anybody noticed that the second biggest problem after the WhatsApp is also got solved. Yes, now we can keep the camera sounds 'Off' after the update.

Nokia done what expected...!! Thk u nokia fr this.. For All plse do that send reply on twitter on nokia help for new update for wifi hotspot and mp4 video's wont support.. Plse leave this on twitter..

i though my money is going to waster! but now, am the most happiest person on earth!! i got my whatsapp now and is working majestically. well done nokia for given us whatsapp on asha 501.
