HMD should go to oblivion for ruining the reputation of a well respected brand that was a pioneer of phones 15 years ago
- you have to suffer

i classify this as poor man's nokia x30.
anyway, the chipset could be worse than p22. maybe equivalent to a22

Anonymous, 21 Jan 2023before that happens. the whole craze will move to cloud com... moreThat's not gonna happen any time soon, and most probably, will never happen, as it makes no sense. For work PC it makes sense, to help admins keep clients on high availability, efortless scalability (PC got to slow, well it can be beefed up to keep up with the new situations) and redundency (95% or higher assurence that no data get's lost). All these are useless when we talk phones, expensive and nobody will ever buy something like this, not even a big enterprise. The second no go will be, 5G antennas would need to be placed every 10 meters from one-another everywhere in this world, even on Mountains, so your phone can have a good connection to it's own software and, in addition, to be able to make calls, emergency calls. Third, every phone manufacturer that wants to do it, needs to build their own Data-Center with tones of hardware resulting in huge costs and massive envirometal blow. The last but not least, the phone will still need almost the same hardware and software to be able to do all that work, from lighter OS to 5G antenna receiver to wifi to RAM, storage, gpu, cpu, screen, mainboard, battery. So, any companie that even tries to make such a phone, is in for law suits and bankruptcy.

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2023Soon the European Union will demand and enforce all brands ... moreThis is something Germany is pushing for
phone makers to offer at least 5 or 7 years of updates
Not sure if all of the EU will agree with Germany
It might happen but it sounds better than it will work in practice
Just try too imagine a 7 year old mid range smartphone running the lasted version of android of today
This is where the problem lays a budget smartphone of today is the equivalent of if not better then a flagship from 7 year's ago and people only blame the chipset
The updates will slow a smartphone down so much it be unbearable too use
Even flagship phone who people payed a hefty premium for won't run silky smooth anymore and won't perform like a good phone anymore
The only way I can see this software problem fixed is if Google just keep supporting the older versions of android forever
There are smartphones still in production that run old versions of android and being used that run version of android as far back as android 4 still being made and brought
Also most android emulators run either android 7 or 9
So yeah much need for old version of android too get support

Anonymous, 21 Jan 2023Agreed, everyone ended android go except thembecause its more practical in underdeveloped countries like in africa .. android go phones last much longer. cz they are not resource hog .it has many demanding "smart" feature turned off like show over display feature . doesn't let more that 4 background services run simultaneously . so the phone has more net lifetime than budget phones with heavy ui animation and endless non essential services running in background
