svraghavan, 04 Apr 2011Can any body enlighten me how to save the videos which were... moreAnything you transfer via Bluetooth on the C7 will end up in the Received Files folder (which is on E: ,unless u've changed a setting), but notifications will also show up like a received message which appears in message inbox. Simply delete the notification messages and transfer ur .flv files from Received files to wherever you want them. The .flv files however wont show up in the default video player so you will have to navigate to where u saved them using file browser, they'll open up with flash player.

I would like to inform you that currently there are so many phones in the market which are way better than the C7.
BUT, even if you spend Rs 5000 more than the C7, I don't think you'll find a phone that would be better. You don't get that many features along with an AMOLED screen with an 8Mpx camera and HD video recording in Androids even (talking about the price range of Rs 15-20,000). C7's current price in Delhi is around Rs 16,800 which is a decent one for a Smartphone like this one.
Also, you can look for C6-01 which is around Rs 1,000 cheaper, smaller and thicker than C7. It also has a memory of only 340MB with a 2GB MMC, compared to the C7's 350MB phone mem + 8GB mass memory + MMC Slot.
PS: I have been using this phone for more than 3 months now and I haven't had problems with it. It started hanging and rebooting, as I mentioned in an earlier post of mine, but I reckon that was because I had stretched it's memory to it's peak, leaving only about 4MB free on the phone memory and 1MB in the mass memory.. ;)

Hi,I am from mumbai,i bought a nokia C7 phone with a bill & warranty on 22nd of march,2011,soon after using it only for a few hours,not even for a whole day,i found that it had a purple tint problem with the display,which i showed the dealer & he took it back,saying that i would be getting a new piece,i m still waiting for a new piece,as they say,all C7's of the current lot have this display problem,did u have ur display changed or u bought a phone from the new batch? or new lot? where did u buy it from? plss reply asap....than in advance

once again, I need help guys..I tried installing the game Treemaker and it installed completely; but unfortunately, the game does not start. It will just show the loading screen then it'll exit to the menu. Anyone here who has tried it? Did it work for you guys?

Guys,
I got to play with the Nokia C6-01 and the new Galaxy SL yesterday..
The C6-01 is nothing different from the C7, apart from the CBD and a sharper display due to a higher pixel-density. But, the phone fails to impress as the display, though marginally smaller than C7, does look CRAMPED.
Using the camera, esp HD recording is not that much fun to be honest. Also, the HD games that I play on the C7, don't appeal much due to the tiny screen, but, the sharpness and the display quality is slightly better than the C7. Not much noticeable if you keep the phones side by side.
Coming to the Galaxy SL, we all know that Android is, by far, the best deal when it comes to OS and UI.
BUT, the ever-so-power-hungry Android OS and a large 4" TFT-LCD display are real BATTERY SUCKERS!!
I have to admit that the display quaity of the Super-Clear LCD (actually due to the resolution = 480*800) is fantastic and the 4" screen is a great thing to play your games on(though it doesn't have HD 3D games).
So, the C7 has the AMOLED, almost all the features you would expect from a Smartphone, that too at a great offer price!!
The C6-01 has a better display quality, slightly though, having everything else in the UI as good as the N8 or C7.
Samsung's Galaxy SL, the LCD model of the Galaxy S, is as impressive as it's father, but, having lost the S-AMOLED, lacks it's dad's charm. To add more to grieve about, it's LCD and a real battery crisis follows that!

Don't worry about the display, Nokia shall replace it if you start having a bad experience with the tint.
Also, if you're planning to buy this phone, I would suggest you not to download those test images.
You should be alright with your phone.
It's all in the head and not in the display, mind you.
For everyone else,
If you think you can't live with it, you can go for the C6-01 which is completely free from this kinda issues as it uses CBD technology over AMOLED.

I dont wanna buy a brand new phone dat luks as if it has issues. I actually havent seen anyone yet wit a c7. I am serving in Yobe n i intend 2buy mine frm Jos. My pal says the shop sells quality phones. C7 is 55k for now. D friends of urs, how much did they buy their N8 n where.

Can any body enlighten me how to save the videos which were downloaded from you tube (flv formate) in C7 phone. When I transferred the videos from my system to C7 through blue tooth, it went and saved in messages. when I try to save it in memory card, there is no option on the file like save, or send to memory card etc. Every time I play those videos by opening messages-inbox-click-video plays. svraghavan.

why, 04 Apr 2011man what is ALTDRMaudioplayerutility?? i have it on instal... moreNot sure what that is,but its probably related to DRM (digital rights media) for your music player and probably has to do with any DRM embedded files you download, eg from Ovi music, so I'd leave it be.

hate the fixed focus. Nokia should start installing auto focus on their smart fone. On this issue sony e has an advantage over nokia

I've read far and wide on different websites and forums on this issue and the complaints seem to be getting more heated and more widespread with each passing day. I guess part of the discontent is because of what people interprete as nonchalance on the part of Nokia administration trying to ignore the problem.
I've always felt/hoped the tint was manageable as long as it stayed at a minor level, like yours and Maverick's. But at the same time, I've seen screen shots of tinted displays that were simply unbearable. If this were any other phone I'd ditch it and go for something else, but try as I may I cannot find a phone with comparable features at a similar price.
All I can do now is pray real hard that I get one with an ok display. AND make sure I read the fine print on the warranty.

I'm a C7 user since January. Yes, I have the purple tint issue but it's not a major one. It doesn't really affect me in my routine use. But, while watching movies, I can see purple-pink-brown patches in dark areas of the video. That is when I come to notice about the issue.
However, there are certain phones where the issue is quite explicit.. Those phones show up half of the analogue clock as completely brown or dark purple.
This is an excellent phone, with so many features loaded. I couldn't find any other phone within this price range with these many features and an AMOLED screen.
Now, people here who are cribbing about the tint issue should know that all AMOLED screens have a tint. Some have blue, some have a yellowish off-white, some have a red/brown, while others have a purple/pink.
You can see it on wikipedia that all OLED displays have a tint that gives an apparent artificial saturation to one or the other colour.
I do not say that there's no issue with AMOLEDs on N8's & C7's..
All I want to say that if it's too much of a Pink/Purple shade, get it replaced. If your problem is not at the WORST stage, Nokia might not even touch your phone, let alone REPLACING the display.
PS: must go through this link and read all about OLED technology. And stop cribbing, you can bare with it quite easily!
