why, 31 Mar 2011hey man..you have the purple tint issue right??why don't yo... moresad to say, I think you also have that purple tint issue. You shouldn't see brown or purple colors on that test image. Instead those colors should be gray to dark gray. try setting your clock to analog then slide lock your phone, then press the menu key..if half of the clock is purple in the setting of 50% brightness...we have the same issue dude. I've no plans to bring it
to NCC as mine is not that bothersome (barely noticeable). I've seen 10 posts of different persons bringing their phone to NCC and ended up having their screen replaced but still with the same issue. I guess I'll just have to wait for a better fix.I'm positive that it is just a software issue involving the ambient light sensor. I'm using light control app by the way while watching movies as it bypasses the light sensor. While that application is turned on..I don't see any of that purple discoloration even in the clock, test images, and videos.

AnonD-2572, 30 Mar 2011I'm surprised you have those probs, I've updated to PR 1.2 ... moregot it dude..thanks.anyway, I'm still using pr 1.0 and haven't updated yet..I'm not having any problems with my phone and I'm just worried that I might have those if I update to pr 1.2. maybe you're right, I'll just wait for pr 2.0 and update via OTA. Thanks again. what country are you from anyway?just wondering if those bugs depend on which country you are from.

Lol! Because i doubt your claim especially the one that nokia care admitted to you that all c7's have 3g problem. Does it mean c7 users who never experience that problem are big liars? LOL!

john, 30 Mar 2011followup question on this..which is better, updating throug... morehey man..you have the purple tint issue right??why don't you bring your phone to NCC...i read a post on nokia ph facebook page thar her n8 with purple tint issue got a screen replacement..although she said it's going to be the third time and screen still have the issue..just sayin..
anyway..i downloaded the image for the screen test..is it normal to see some light brown color with the image..i don't have the purple tint issue but when i'm playing videos there are some dark areas in the videos where some disturbing patches of brown and light purple are present..help me with this one...

I dont know why you dont have that option, my C7 does have it. Make sure all ur contacts are in phone memory and use phone memory as your default memory and all options will be available. Cheers.

john, 30 Mar 2011hey, maverick...dude I've a very dumb question, If for exam... moreI'm surprised you have those probs, I've updated to PR 1.2 and havent faced those problems. I guess the only way back will be to reflash your device. OVI suite wont allow you to revert back to PR 1.1 or 1.0 . If you do go back, you better wait for PR 2.0 as it brings a lot of worthwhile improvements and hopefully should be stable too. I always backup before I update and havent faced any loss of data yet, on my old N82 I once had a device that refused to start after updating but things were fine once I removed the battery and restarted it, thats the only scare I've had so far.
I've updated to PR 1.1 using ovi suite and to PR1.2 OTA. OTA update is quite fast and seems to be quite effective. I think I'm likely to go with OTA for all updates unless I'm facing issues with my phone.
One last word, if ur having issues with ur phone, check the apps u've installed on ur phone and uninstall any apps you suspect or dont use or need. Like I've mentioned earlier, the only restarting issue I've faced on my phone was with the incompatible version of flip font, I had updated to PR 1.2 just at the same time as I had installed that so I was inclined to blame the updating for my problems, but as soon as I uninstalled that, things were fine.
And with my experience on the C7 , I'd advise everyone to keep ur installed app list to less than 150 in total and only compatible apps in the interest of having a stable device, unless u like living on the edge lol

I am using Nokia C7 for the last two months, The phone is good with all of its applications but when I insert Memory
Card it Hang and stop working, the memory card came with Nokia N78 and work good with N78. I was wondering if the same problem occurs to other Nokia C7 owners.

hey, maverick...dude I've a very dumb question, If for example, I updated my C7 to pr 1.2 and some problems after that update came up (hanging problems, menu key not working,low battery life, etc.)...Is it possible to bring it back to pr 1.0 (which I still have now.lol.I'm really hesitant to update because of these problems I'm reading from some people who updated their units here in the Philippines.). If so, what's the easiest step? How important is backing up before updating dude. Thanks in advance.

I had my c7 for more than 3 months now,..very nice phone, the only prob that i see is that when using it in the sunlight,it's hard to see something on the screen, else it's marvellous.
