aj2010, 22 Mar 2011shall i make it difficult 4 u? i think N8 is a way better ... moreYour comment that C7 gets delicate is not right. I was carrying this phone in my belt pouch riding a bicycle when somebody side swiped me and i fell down on my right side with the phone (within the pouch) hit the road so hard that part of the flap got badly scraped. As to the phone, nothing happened and i was able to call for help using it. I thank Nokia for making it in steel casing and not any fancy glass panels.

i prefer the typing method nokia choose over the split screen typing of andriod and IOS..
what i hate when creating an sms with my previous iphone is the text box for sms is sooo small, it is very hard to see your sms first before sending. unlike in nokia. the text box is big enough for you to see your sms first before sending and if you want to see the thread you can always go back to it and check your sms again in a bigger screen..i hope nokia will not change this method once the PR 2 for symbian^3 is released..

lg87, 23 Mar 2011Camera 8MP- Fixed Focus is just WRONGI agree, Nokia was cutting corners there. The camera is prettu bad for shots closer than 50 cms. That basically rules out most 'self portraits' you take of urself with the phone ( i do a lot of this) and no matter how good the cam is outdoors, the lack of clarity in close shots is a major grouse I have with the C7

To everyone here, just an opinion.. I've used most phone platforms (except windows mobile) and I'm telling you without a bias that the C7 is one of the smoothest, hassle free phones I've used. It has quite a few features Nokia should be trumpeting but doesnt ( give me an example of a non-Nokia phone that has Pentaband 3G, wifi N, Bluetooth 3, USB OTG, 720p video recording all in one package and at this price) Add to that a solid OS that I havent faced a single crash on (I've even had crashes on the power-beast N900 and thats as stable as they come). I dont know what will happen to my C7 tomorrow but as of today I'm pleased. I can tell you that I had very few expectations when buying the C7, but its left me pleasantly surprised. By a long way.

AnonD-3112, 22 Mar 2011Hey there aj2010.. I think you are one of those N8 buyers ... moreI second this.. I wanted to buy an 'everyday' phone, and was undecided between the C7 and N8 ( i considered the c6-01 too, but dropped it soon cos i found it cute but a little cramped :) ) I checked out both and read reviews as well, I soon realised that ur getting almost everything of the N8 in the C7 minus a few things i could do without like the HDMI port. I initially bought this as a temporary arrangement till I got a new dual core android. I thought when I do get one I'll hand the C7 over to my wife. But having used the C7 for a few months now I can tell you, she aint getting this phone anytime soon!! :)

Yes, TTpod looks good but I've had some trouble finding a stable version to install..all the ones I've found are showing errors.

For album art (and I believe to experience the full finesse of the C7's coverflow you have to have album art) I'm assuming you already have ur songs on the C7 like I did. Now you can connect the C7 to ur PC (with internet conn) in mass storage mode, use either mp3tag(i use this) or media monkey, point it to ur folder on the phone containing ur music files and select the album art for each song. You can also edit meta data if thats not right on the file. I've posted a more detailed post on album art in the comments section of the C6-01. Check that out, and dont hesitate to ask if you need any more help. Cheers.

Never used Symbian 1. I'm actually not a fan of Nokia. The last Nokia I used ran S60 3rd. I used it for a couple of years then switched to Windows Mobile 6.5 which is what I'm using now.

I know symbian 3 isn't exactly the most user friendly UI availlable but neither is Windows Mobile. I feel if i can work with WM i can work with symbian 3 especially if its supported with good hardware.

I'm interested in Android, though I've never used it. But price is the major issue. The only android (froyo) phone i know with similar capabilities to C7 is 'HTC Desire HD' which costs almost twice the price of a C7 where i live.

So buying a C7 is a no-brainer for me, even though I dont expect to use it past the end of this year since Nokia have decided to officially abandon ship.

Mine doesn't even have the purple tint nor does it have any software issues. I think that the newer models have all previous issues rectified but that doesn't mean that some factories still give out ones with those issues. Don't worry, just buy it. At least now all the fresh out of the factory models will be trouble free (from hardware point of view, like the purple tint thingy). I would like to know if you have any experience with symbian^1 and for how long. Cause i upgraded from 1 to 3 and as a result i find everything much much stable. But if you are more into platforms like android then i will definately ask you not to buy any symbian^3 device.
