Nokia C7 is greater than my expectations. camera out... moreGuys..I just bought this phone 5 hours ago.Upgrade from N97 to C7.my 1st impression is this C7 very good.I like this.Very fast scroll and i dont need SPB shell anymore.Im suggesting people to buy this phone.SURE ROCK!!!.My only question is how many RAM available for this phone coz spec wrote 256mb.But I checked more than that.+-337mb.something not right.Nokia guys please explain....

The micro usb connector is the same as all other nokia micro usb connectors. I'm using my old Nokia N82 micro usb cable for connecting my C7 to my pc :) Pretty soon this will be the standard for chargers, its already mandatory in Europe.
The videos you shoot with the C7 in 720p resolution will remain exactly the same if u transfer the file in toto to ur pc or a flash disk for example, and u can watch it on ur tv then in the same resolution.However if you try outputting the video from the device itself vis TV out, the output video will be downscaled to around 480 p, the max possible in SD resolution via component output.

Just finding out more of the device... so please dont feel I'm asking too much.
1.) is the small end of the USB to flash drive connector (the one that goes into the phone) the same as the micro USB found in the more recent Nokia phones? or is it different. I thought it looked like the mocro USB to PC connector from what I saw in the pictures.
2.) will the 720p videos taken with a C7 transferred through a microSD Card remain 720p HD when watched on a PC or TV, or will it loose the resolution to 480p?

The C7 has a feature that is understated but which you wont find anywhere else but on a Nokia..a free, offline full featured sat nav.. which wont cost you anything when you're roaming in a strange place with no or very expensive roaming cellular plans..being a frequent traveller I really appreciate this one feature if no other.

no doubt iTz reaaly a nyce cell phone.. iam having it from last 3 months.. nyce design low price.!! ya i may say that it hangs a lil bit but i have heard that after updating software its performance gets better than before..!!

Ultimately it comes down to symbian vs. android..the Ace is a mid range android 2.2 phone..the C7 is almost the same specs processor and software-wise as the symbian 3 top phone, the N8. Be aware that the video recording of the Ace is crap, the still cam is good and any android running a sub 1Ghz processor will lag occasionally. Android has better apps, symbian in robust and reliable. Build quality of both are good, both dont support "real" flash for the browser (the c7 has flash lite 4 which works pretty well)
Symbian is far from being dead, you can expect Nokia to release atleast 2 more major updates for the C7 and N8. Whether the Ace will get an android update is unsure.
You're not likely to be unhappy whichever of the two you choose. Personally I would choose the C7 over the Ace or go for a higher end android if you want to experience the droid. Good Luck. :)

Hi all just wondering whether I should get this or the samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 well i kinda like the keyboard of the android and its a bit fun but this phone just looks so elegant and stuff its like solid. Don't know about the samsung though what do you guys think?

Used to have restarting problem for three weeks.
but just after installing the latest SW update (the search engine) strangely enough the phone is working properly since last thursday.
and when working properly it is the best phone around

The C7 is a good-featured phone and I'm happy with it myself. About charging over USB, I have had mixed results, sometimes the phone charges fine, but sometimes, espeially when I'm transferring files, it seems to stop charging. Charging using the mini pin connector is just fine however.
Not sure about the price in Nagpur..anyone here knows?
Btw..if you want the same features as the C7 in a smaller and slightly cheaper package, check out the C6-01.Its another nice and solidly built phone.

Sorry, I don't know how much the usb-to-flash-drive connector costs,i havent seen the nokia version though the N8 ships with one. I myself played with a few usb male/female connectors and the supplied usb cable and tried out the usb OTG using that, though its cumbersome that way Lol
Regarding video, you can play back videos upto 720p on the device itself, but a few websites say the phone has trouble playing files over 1.5 GB size. If you output the video over the TV out, it will be im SD resolutiom as the C7 doesmt have an HDMI port, so you will be getting a maximum of 480p. I have tried outputting video onto my LCD TV using the TV out cable that came with my N900, and it works fine..the quality is not like HD, but is absolutely watchable, with no distortion.
