Anonymous, 23 Mar 2011Pls i want to know if anyone is facing similar problem, my ... morei have same problem with you. the backlight is brighten up by itself even i turn it at low. my E5 is now in nokia care, just sent it about an hour ago. they said is the sensor light setting, if i turn it into maks, the light sensor won't work and the screen won't keep brighten up. but it's imposible, it too bright all the way. they said want to check it and will confirm me the next day. geez...hope they'll fix it.

I am using this phone for about 3 months. Excellent phone. Some points may be helpful to others.
1. In direct sunlight, the screen will become black. So, in direct sunlight put your finger on the light sensor. This will solve the problem.
2. If you can't connect push mail (like me, even after using push mail for 2 months), take backup of your contacts and perform hard reset. Then try to connect push mail. It solved my problem.
3. Initially if you face problem in photo using flash. Please check you removed the cover (small sticky plastic which is coming with the package) or not.
4. For longer battery life (event with pushmail always on) select GSM (not automatic) network and activate power saving mode.
Nokia E5 may not be very good looking phone, but it's very powerful (with great microprocessor and older OS).
Picture quality cannot be great like your DSLR camera even like N8 (ha, ha, ha). But, it should be better ;-)

Hi base on the lovely comment i've heard about this phone , especially from people like stanley, i have finanly bought this phone . But my major problem is that the screen brighten up by itself ocassionally even when i turn the display light all the way down...it keep brighten up by itself, pls can anyone suggest how can i fix it...

Other than factory reset and hard reset, is there a way to clear unwanted files out of the phone memory?
Especially Other Files which eats up most of the memory.

I have had my E5 since November and i hate it! It sticks continuously, it switches off ALL the time and then for some reason it wont switch back on again for about 15 minutes of constant trying! God forbid i try to add any apps to it because then it just plays dead! its the most ive ever spent on a phone and its the worst i have ever had! i cannot wait to change it and would not reccomend it at all.

As stanley mentioned, try out PhoNetInfo v3.0 specifically 3.0 coz the older version doesnt give out proper results(did not for me, it showed ARM4 and 187MHz processor). But PhoNetInfo v3.0 shows proper hardware details. If u have an original piece, it WILL show 600MHz else go to the dealer and get a replacement!
