To trick to writing text messages in full caps is to write a character in Abc first. Having done that the case will change to lower case (abc) just press the number sign/pound/hash key and it will change to upper case (ABC) and it will stay in uppercase unless you change it to another case.

-By default, the case is on "Abc"... so type the first letter (this would be on upper case).
-After typing the 1st letter, case would change to "abc"...
-You can now press the "#" button to change the letter case to "ABC"

I use this phone as my primary/everyday phone... Here are my comments
LOVE:
-Build (very compact/solid)
-Casing (Stainless steel)
-Display (better compared to other 16M-display phones
-Speed in opening/saving apps/msgs/browsing(Very fast compared to E61i)
-Battery life (I don't process documents nor browse too much on my phone, just the normal texting and calls)
-Audio (Superb quality, not that loud but the quality is A-OK)and it's 2.5mm-earphone friendly
-Price (Super duper must buy if you want an affordable phone that's complete and stable)
-Keypads (Very easy to navigate and type even if it's not qwerty)
HATE
-Screen is too small for browsing
-Don't expect too much from the 2mp camera (just like what others said, this is a business phone. Go get a digicam if you want high quality pics)
-Fingerprint absorber (You need to wipe it with cloth every now and then if you wanna keep it shiny)
-The rubber buttons (power/volume/shutter) on the sides of the phone. (These butons easily tears so don't use them)

Color Tone is green. Camera is not 2.0 MP standard as comparable to other Nokia 2.0 MP camera.

jj, 20 Mar 2009i bought this phone 2 mounth not good phone and 2mp cam... moreStupid comment! Eseries are not multimedia phone.it is business phone.if you hope a better camera phone.buy N series with carl zeiss vario tessar lens and xenon flash. Or buy a real digital camera. Dont buy E series. Dont be stupid bro.

Hmm maybe a problem with your network provider probably if you were in a dual mode, for the meantime you can check the settings of your phone..if you were on a dual mode in network connection make it on GSM mode...

Plz help me out. My e51 has stopped to send text msgs. Whenever i try to send sms, it goes straight to the outbox and after a few moments it appears on the screen that "message sending failed". I restored all factory settings but in vein. There z on network problem too nor any problem with msg settings. Plz tell me what should i do now??

in response to all the post complaining about the camera quality....
i have own this phone for over a year and still love it. this is meant for business use and not so much for entertainment such as taking pictures, and if you are the type that is crazy about "pictures" then buy a CAMERA!
The real flaw with this phone would certainly be battery life, under heavy data usage the battery tends to run out quick with programs running in the background.

i can change it between Abc abc and dictionary versions but i cannot seem to find all capitals.
Any help would be appreciated!!

pai daca esti bou, normal k nu gasesti radio la el. Cumpara un radio separat, da la cat esti de prost si nu il gasesti in meniul telefonului, o sa il cauti pierdut si prin buzunare.

Why do these Sony Ericsson fans always come in Nokia forums and blast Nokia phones ? Talking about bad phone, only 2MP camera and all sort of nonsense.
2MP is adequate for most people. Look at the 1.3MP from the 6630, still one of the greatest cameras to date. Don't forget the VGA camera from the 6230, that was the best VGA camera of all the VGA camera phones. Even the Sony Ericsson K700i which was promoted as being a camera more than a phone couldn't compete with the 6230's camera!!!
You people need to get a life. Your silly comments WON'T stop people from buying Nokias so grow up. Also, your comments WON'T stop Nokia from being a NUMBER 1.

i really enjoy using nokia E51, but i ve got one question... please help me in this
Qn: wen ever i install games there is no sound at all, even according to game setting if i activate the sound thrs nothin... but one of my fren is also having same fon n wen i install any games in tht fon the sound is playing?
ANS: just update your firmware sir. i have that same problem before. But after i updated it, you can hear the sounds in every installed games.
i love this phone. having the whole package,eventhough the cam is only 2mp with no flash.
