even i'd like to know how to mute the camera shutter.. moreover i get a mild shock when i connect my phone thru USB.. can anyone tell me why? mail me at drgauts@in.com.. please..

            Just asked cause it showed an option of IMEI and heard from somewhere that it is possible to change the no. so thought was this the software...

              i think you can buy an upgrade pack to be able to edit docs. cant recall what it is called.

                  In my opinion, this phone z great for everyone,
                  but i hav a question if anybody can help:
                  is there a software for it 2 connect through wireless network to google talk and hav a voice conversation through the earpiece and microphone of the mobile? and please where 2 find it if its available?

                    just got this phone a month ago, and all i can say is, i love this phone, it has WLAN 2mp cam. and a cool design i like the black steel rather than the silver.and if you press the * longer the bluetooth will switched on. that's cool the prize is affordable.the features are great. I'am contented with this phone.

Furthermore, it's said to be a hardware number so it cannot be changed. A source said you would physically change the entire circuit board if you wanted a different IMEI.

                        Question, why would you want to change your IMEI ? The only reason I can think of a person wanting to change their IMEI is because they have a stolen phone.

                        Changing the PRODUCT CODE is bad enough and is not supposed to be discussed anywhere as it is an interal setting...discussing or changing an IMEI is extremely illegal and somewhere along the line INTERPOL could put you in jail!!!!!!

                        Please avoid discussing IMEI with anyone anywhere, whether online or offline.

                        To answer your other question, YES changing your PRODUCT CODE will void your warranty is you STUPIDLY tell Nokia you changed it. They have ways of finding out if a PRODUCT CODE has been changed BUT don't make it easy for them to find out if you take your phone to a Nokia Care Centre by telling them you changed it. If you do that they will either run you or charge you to service your phone.

I previously use... moreYES, reflashing WILL ERASE all your personal data which includes CONTACTS, MESSAGES, NOTES, CALENDAR ENTRIES etc. The phone will become BLANK as the first day you turned it on after purchasing it from the store.

                          Fortunately you can easily back up all your data by using the MEMORY CARD BACKUP feature. Obviously you have to have a memory card in your phone !!!

                          To backup your data go to then click OPTIONS and then select 'BACKUP PHONE MEMORY'

                          Once you back up your data, remove the MEMORY CARD and leave you SIM CARD in as you cannot FLASH your phone UNLESS the SIM is in.

                          After you have reflashed your phone put the memory card back in the phone and go back through the same procedures to access the memory card. After opening 'OPTIONS' from the memory card menu select 'RESTORE PHONE MEMORY'.

                          I personally like to backup my phone data using Nokia PC Suite as well. Best to have your data in 2 places because sometimes the unexpected happens.

                                      abhi, 31 Oct 2008yes pls do guide us and let ua all know...To all those who wants to turn off there camera sounds:

                                      First you need a software called Nemesis Service Suite (NSS).

                                      You can find it here: http://www.b-phreaks.co.uk/index.php?main_page=page_2

                                      After installing the program and starting it up, you need to click on the button with the magnifying glass icon labelled 'Scan for New Device'. After that click on the button labelled 'Phone Info'.

                                      Look to the right of the box and click enable in the check box beside PRODUCT CODE. Delete the code in there and put in 0552338. After that click on the WRITE button. IT's done.

                                      Now you will need Nokia Software Updater to reflash your E51. If you don't have it you can download it from here: http://europe.nokia.com/A4579163.

                                      After reflashing the firmware you will now see 2 differences, American English and the camera sounds can be turned off by setting your profile to SILENT MODE.

                                        E51 is really a superb phone with a very good battery backup. The navigation key is a bit wobbling apart from it everything in this phone is good.
