we have a sound problem when receiving or making calls, i need a big solution for that. IS the best phone among all nokia phones.

Winura, 06 Aug 2008unfortunately you cannot turn off the camera sounds on the ... more..Indeed there is a way that you can turn off the shutter camera sound... just change the phone to ¨silence mode¨ and that´s it.. At least works fine in mine´s.. May be cause i´ve had upgrade my software to: 200.34.36 24-04-2008 RM-244 Nokia E51(01)... Cheers!!

Even more stupid really is made such invest whitout do the proper analize and check it out the product´s features before buy it ... The E´s series is a complete business line, top´s connectivity device instedd multimedia,, so if u buyed it for its camera.. Great mistake yours!! Cheers!! And by the way no for nothing this Model is in the top 10´s best smart phones in the whole world..

Well i've been using this device for quite some time and am perfectly satisfied with it. |However if you are opting for a device to give you ultimate in music and camera features, it's not the right device. One must opt for a phone in the N series.
Further, fring works perfectly with this device. Additionally the Voip client built in feature helps in streamlining the call out process. I have saved a lot on international calls since i have bought it. Gizmoproject5 and truphone services work effortlessly with this product.
Way to go NOkia for this fabulous product.

sudarsan, 08 Aug 2008is e51 better than n73,b'coz both are costing similsr price... moreif you buy the N73, what you'll get is a phone with a slightly bigger screen, less color and a very very very slow processor.

Neither. I think it is the phone that does not search for signal after no signal for a while.

I have a problem with phone not getting signal after it is has no signal for a long period of time. I would take it to an area where there is suppose to have signal but it does not show any bars and I cannot make calls. I have to reset phone to get signal again. Any ideas.

Hey. I've been using this phone for a month now. The question i want to ask is. Is browsing on e51 expensive than other mobiles. If no, then its cool. But if yes, then why?

Its a cool phone packed with features at a very good price. camera isn't bad at all and the design and feel are very solid. overall a good reliable phone

Ive owned this phone for about 5 months now, and while its very feature packed, the call quality is a huge disappointment. about 1 in 5 calls i get a terrible echoey sound, and it doesnt stop until i hit the phone. I looked into it, and this is very common.
Out of the 12 cell phones ive owned, it has by far the best rf reception. My case in point involves me on a boat 1.5 miles off shore, and i got two wifi signals with 2 bars (out of 3). that is simply impressive.
my 3g reception is also very good. In my friends basement, my phone is passed around often. Ill have 4 bars of gsm while my friends have none (tilt/pantech duo/rockr/voyager)
The standard symbian s60 ui is flawless.
The battery life is fantastic.
Ive shut my phone completely off 3 times in 5 months, and its crashed 1 time (i use it for 5 hours a day)
Function speed is ok.. not great, but its fast enough not to be annoyed.
My other major complaint is the keypad. Im used to a very soft keypad, and all the buttons on this take more pressure to use. The voice recording/volume buttons are pointless, as you have to mash them before they engage..
While ive had some nokias with great build quality, this is probably one of the worst. It creaks all over the place.
The screen size is ok.. nothing special. I always tend to have problems with video playback (using the native real player). They are choppy and lose audio sync.
The screen is also very soft, so i strongly urge you to get a screen protector. I used a MF for awhile, and then just used it as a template to cut a new protector from a sony psp.
Bluetooth is fine.
Voice dialing always seems to be off, but i do mumble my words, so it may be me.
If they fixed the unreliable call quality, creaks, and button firmness, i would recommend it to a friend, or as a backup phone. But as it stands 3.5 out of 5 stars
