cntd. ok, mb not a headache, but sth like a tension, and the font size is so small, even after making it to large from the settings, doesn't change the pic a lot.

        Hey Rex, E51 vs. 6300?

Guess what... my wife uses a 6300! and I use E51! I can answer this question very much.

The quality of the camera is the same... mediocre. But viewing from the QVGA screen will always make the pictures look good. Nothing in between these 2 phone. NEVER dump yr 6300 for E51 with hopes of having a better camera.

Series 40 is actually VERY GOOD. If you dump yr 6300 for E51, you'll MISS the great features of Series40 such as "Msg Recipient or Open Log" function when drafting a SMS, Mark/Unmark feature in Symbian sucks and many many more. You will SURELY miss the feature of TURNING OFF the camera sound in 6300, coz in E51, you CAN'T!! Any very annoying is, when you view a picture in 6300 in full screen, it'll fill up the screen... well in E51, it will NOT fill up the screen, you'll hv to view the pictures in potrait mode. These are just a few examples, i can list more. In short, Series 40 is very very good and user friendly. So, think deeply before migrating to Symbian.

The good thing abt Symbian is that you can multi task and d'load programs. which i like very much.

Oh, suprisingly... the E51 speaker phone is very SOFT. the 6300 is loud by almost twice. On the MP3 functions, it's almost the same. Sound quality wise, i've not tested. Once I do, will share here.

        Hope this helps.

On how fast the E51 vs 6120... well, it's the SAME speed. it has the same amount of RAM (i forgot how many is that).

On E51 vs. E65... E65 has LESS RAM, so, it's a tad slower. And E65 runs on PREVIOUS generation of Symbian OS, so, E51 is MILES ahead, in terms of current technology.

            Gede,

For yr case, since u dont need WIFI, between 6120 and E51... you can save lots of money if u get the 6120. You can even buy a 4Gb microSD for the difference.

But, you're right, the E51 keypad is better than 6120. it's bigger. but, i guess, the 6120's keypad will be OK in time with lots of practice. I lived with my 6230 & 6230i for 2 years.

If you already on 3G (and do not have regular WIFI access), then, 6120 is a better choice. At least, when needed, you can make 2-way video calls, its kinda fun.

And to top it off. there's a LOT of phone pouch that u can buy to hold the 6120 on yr belt or in the bag. You can't find a suitable pouch for E51, due to its extra long size.

But seriously, if you have access to WIFI (like at home), give a shot of owning a WIFI phone, it's very handy. If not, the 6120 sounds like a better choice for you.

            (Just my opinion) :-)

              Sat 22 Dec 07, 8:20 p.m.

I have the same problem with small fonts, but consider myself lucky that my 6300 (and I assume E51) lets me enlarge some of the fonts at least a little, which is actually MUCH better than the micro-fonts on, say, the N70 which I can just barely see and get a headache trying to read. I understand that you CAN change the default fonts on some models, but it is complicated and I have not fooled around with it yet. Check this out ==> http://nokiae50.info/articles/increasing-font-size-nokia-e50 for instructions.

But the GOOD NEWS is that because the E51 is a S60 v. 3 phone, you can get Psiloc Fort Magnifier for around $10.00 from the Psiloc Shop which will NOT work in my 6300 and is one of the reasons I am considering upgrading.

              Good luck.

              Aloha,

              Rex

                          @nokiamia
                          do u have any advise?
I am confused betwen 6120 and e51 too..
I dont really need wifi and video call, i just need fast symbian and great keypad.
Average i send 80 sms everyday, and 5 email everyday, and maybe 10min call everyday.
So i need confortable keypad, definetly e51 much better than 6120. But 6120 much cheaper than e51.
Someone say 6120 had confortable keypad, but other dont agree...
If 6120 really had confortable keypad, i dont want spend more money on e51. But if not..., i will regret it.
So what is ur suggest ??

                            Mashood... 6120 vs E51?

                            It's almost identical EXCEPT for:
---> it's 2-WAY VIDEO CALL vs WLAN... which do u prefer... can only chose either one.

I chose E51 coz i use it to synch with Outlook (meetings, contacts) and IM (via hotmail) and lots of internet browsing. And i dont make video call, so it was easy for me to choose.

take the 6120/6121 if you dont need WIFI, it has front camera for 2way video call.

Change font size? Heres how i do it (with the Active Standby mode turned ON, even w/out it, i think its still the same).

Menu>Tools>Settings>General>Personalization>Display>Font Size (SELECT YR PREFERENCE HERE)

oh, another thing, those in Malaysia... i got the phone at RM1300 (Avaxx unit). I saw a retailer selling it for RM1699 (?????). better browse first. i'm tipping that the price will further drop in time (as usual, right?).

its been a wk with this phone now...

overall; great phone. i'm a bit irritated that I can't shut off the camera sound when taking pictures. other than that... superb piece of "ultra" mobile internet device.

i also noticed that i have to clear the internet cache every so often. maybe i do heavy internet browsing.

I've bought it yesterday. It's a good phone. Everything works perfectly. Only the battery lifetime. It only last for 2 days without using WLAN. And when u call with video call, we must use the back camera. Quite difficult. But hey, this is a good one.
