What makes you say this is the WORST phone you ever came across. Mine works perfectly from day one til now.
I'm wondering if you are a Sony Ericsson or Samsung fan giving the usual trouble in Nokia forums.
All those considering to purchase this phone GO AHEAD. You won't regret it.

This is the worst handset I have seen in my life. Also all my friends whoever used this set had similar opinion. Please never buy this handset. Also Nokia service centres do not even know how to repair this product if you have any problems.

are there different versions of the Nokia E51.. I got a new one 2 days ago and found out that the screen contrast is not the same as the old one.. the new E51's colors are a bit dull..

whenever i open any web page on my nokia e 51 apache tomcat web page opens.i dont no why it is happening .can any body help me?it is a good phone but problem alwayes comes during surfing on phone. also nokia e 51 flash player is not up to the standered.

That does happen at times but not often.
The next time it happens restart your PC and try again.
You can also uninstall the program and download it again.
Sometimes it's a matter of a bad running service file. If you don't want to restart the PC, press and hold CTRL+ALT+ DEL simultaneously then click PROCESSES then highlight any file starting with NS... and close them. Also close PCSuite.exe and servicelayer.exe.
For peace of mind just restart your PC.
If you tried all the above and you still get the error then Nokia is having technical difficulties. It has happened before and the service wasn't up and running again until a few weeks had passed.
Just be patient, it will work someway or the other.

But when i start the application to update, i get the error: "Sorry, the nokia software updater service is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

You can download any Symbian, Java MIDP 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 2.0, Linux, Windows Mobile, PC, PSP, S40, S60, S80 as well as emulators and much more from a wealthy forum called DOTSIS.COM.
You get the picture right ? Download every known (and unknown) software from this place.
You should find Symbian stuff more than anything else because the slogan and name of the site has everything to do with Symbian.
Check it out and tell me what you think about it.

Thanks for your reply. I had been downloading from nokia.com. I will do as you have advised and get back to you. Do you know where you can direct me to download coreplayer (or cld you send me the set up if you have it?) Or do you know of any better player? Am unable to play a number of videos. Please help.

Yes. It is true you can easily use ... moreRobert I checked Nokia's update site and the latest firmware is available for your phone.
Therefore I suggest you run your updater one more time just in case it became available after you wrote me about it.
If your updater still mentions 200 as being the latest, I suggest you uninstall the present Nokia Software Updater and get the very latest version.
You may as well do the same for PC Suite and get the latest too.
Europe.nokia.com is the region I always download mine from and I never had any form of problems with my downloaded softwares. The updater normally reports things the way it's supposed to.
