thank you original jamaican,
but i've formatted the memory card even before asking
you here,so few of them in the application manager got removed,but some still remains,and i've tried what you have said,i've deleted the contents in the PRIVATE,but the problem still remains.

    If you bought it from an individual rather than a store then the only advice I can tell you is to flash your E51.

    I don't have those problems with my E51.

      The answer to all your questions is YES.

      However, some flash plugins may not show if it was created with a later flash engine other than the version the E51 has.

      Don't worry, viewing web pages on the E51 is very much the same as viewing them on a PC.

      As Nokia said: "view web pages the way they were meant to be seen".

        Hello, everyone. I have a nokia E51 device, the built-in applications and other nokia based softwares are working smooth. Even though I have 2 problems to solve:

        1. It does not support any other video file type except .mp4 (says "unable to play" or "not supported file type"), its becoming irritating now because I cant play videos from youtube either.

        2. As far as I know, shortcut key for silent mode is "#", i keep pressing it but it doesnt change mode, I think this key is disabled by default.

        Can anyone sort out my problems, plz give me suggestions what to do now to feel free using my E51.

            There's NO slowdowns anywhere with my 8GB Transcend Class 6.

                Back when MMC was the popular memory choice for Nokia phones I tried a Kingston and all it did was hang up. Cheaper brands like A-Data and Transcend worked flawlessly...where MMCs are concerned.

                The ONLY good thing I know of Kingston's memory is that you get a tad bit more bytes compared to similar memory cards...once again...this is based off MMCs.

                Where my E51 and MicroSD is concerned, I have only used 2 types so far: A-Data and Transcend...both Class 6. Out of curiosity I checked a few Kingston MicroSD cards and they were all Class 4. Class 6 is faster.

                I don't know if Kingston have stepped up their game with MicroSD and improved the reliability, but, from bad experiences I would choose anything over Kingston.

                    Go get your 8GB memory card and store the world.

                                The Nokia E51 is a magnificent smartphone. No doubt about that.

                                Many people have a problem with the SAR rating. Some have sold it because of the SAR value and some are afraid to buy it because of the SAR value.

                                I too had problems with the SAR...but not in the longest while now.

                                I can't guarantee that it will work for everybody but I have found a way to cut down the high SAR transmission.

                                I used to set the Network mode to 'GSM' only instead of DUAL MODE and set the Operator to 'Manual'.

                                Doing these two things was expected to reduce the SAR transmission.

                                But then I still use to have SAR problems which resulted in headaches ever so often.

                                If you set Network mode to GSM only and set the Operator to Automatic you might be pleased with the results.

                                For me I haven't had a SAR issue for the longest while.

                                Please bear in mind that your Operator's frequency signal is expected to be good to achieve my findings. If it's weak and the phone has to search hard during a call, then the SAR transmission can go as far as the 1.40 rating.

                                Hope it works for the rest of you E51 lovers.

                                  The problem you have encountered is a scary one.

                                  I will tell you how to fix the problem.

                                  First of all, where do you install your software ? In the phone's memory OR memory card ?

                                  If memory card - then connect the phone to your PC using the MASS STORAGE option where the memory card becomes a REMOVABLE DRIVE in 'MY COMPUTER' (presuming you are using a Windows Operating System).

                                  You can also connect the memory card to a PC via a CARD READER as well.

                                  Do NOT use Nokia PC Suite as this method normally limit your options as to what you can do with the memory card.

                                  Browse your memory card and look for a folder called PRIVATE. It's a hidden folder so you will have to set the attributes in your PC to show all hidden files. To get this done go to MY COMPUTER (or any folder) then select then click on the VIEW tab then check mark SHOW ALL HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS.

                                  Go to the PRIVATE folder on the memory card and DELETE everything in there.

                                  You can then disconnect the USB connection, plug the cable out, remove the card by going to MENU, TOOLS, OPTIONS, REMOVE MEMORY CARD or simply tap the POWER button once then select REMOVE MEMORY CARD at the bottom of the list. Take the memory card out then go to MENU, INSTALLATIONS, APP. MGR. and see what's in the list. If there's any entry at all delete them using the delete key. Make sure APP. MGR. is blank before putting in back the card.

                                  Insert the memory card back into the phone then go back to APP. MGR. and see if it's still blank. If there's nothing in there then you are good to go. If anything appears (which shouldn't happen) try removing them once again by using the delete key...in this case the program would have been removed from the memory card already so you would simply be deleting left over entries.

                                  Please let me know the outcome.

                                    i have installed secman in my e51,after that i can't install any software,it says "FILE CORRUPTED".and then i uninstalled it.but even then,I CAN'T INSTALL ANY SOFTWARE, it says file corrupted,and i can't even remove the installed softwares or games,it says "REMOVING FAILED".
                                    PLEASE HELP ME ON THIS.

I love it! I have it for almost a year now and I still find it amazing, although the camera isn't that good because it makes the photos look a bit green ( the camera is in the green gama ) but it's not such a problem. I suggest you buy the phone - It's great!!
