I just want to know when/where you can buy this - it's been 3 months since Nokia announced it! All they're doing is taking the camera out. My E60 is ok, but the memory issues and decreasing responsiveness (as the mem card gets full). This is the only option for a full-featured non-PDA/qwerty phone. I would consider pre-ordering it, but the prices are outrageous, usually $100 more than the regular E51, for a phone that is supposed to list for $100 less.
BTW, I first tried to post this from my E60, but the browser blew out when I got a phone call :(

Im shocked that there is an id1ot who would complain about this when there is a Camera version below.
Certain workplaces, Companies,some small businesses, labs etc. . . Have rules NOT to carry Cameras and Camera Phones in to their premises and the people who work at these places need Smartphones that do NOT HAVE a camera. The E60, E61, and E51-Camera Free are 3 NOKIA S60v3 devices that fill this gap, SE also have some like the M600 and W950, i think HTC and i-Mate also have some phones like the Jaq that fill this gap.
So please quit whinning about a missing Camera, there is a HUGE market for this.

Javier, what's with your camera fetish?!
What a narrow view of the world you have. You should do your research. Nokia's best-selling phones worldwide don't even have a color screen. The people who got them got them based on their need.
Nokia does a great service by going into those markets. You are not their only customer.
Too bad the world won't confirm to your misconception of it.

@Javier
Some people just dont need any camera on their phone, dear, and you have to appreciate their need / choice. If you want something with camera, do some research, get e51 with camera version or anything better, and stop yapping / complaining in this forum. This is a Nokia E51 camera-free forum! There are many phone user segments, and we are, unfortunately, not as 'smart', as 'rich', or as 'hightech' as you are. This is a business phone, Javier dear, and it won't suit your 'fancy' taste.

I think this "camera-free phone" is just a hoax. Publicity stunt of some sly marketing guy of Nokia. Got us all breathing a sigh of relief after panicking, right??? I mean, why on Earth...

Finally! A phone loaded with features that does not come with a built-in camera. There's a huge market out there for such a phone, and luckily Nokia continues to relate to their niche customers with special requirements. Keep It Up!

Thank God for this phone! My job doesn't allow phones with cameras which meant I was stuck with old phones because all the phones with good features all had cameras. Now I can have all those features and work still will be happy!

@bin
E51 has 2 models, with 2MP cam and cam-free. Just pick the one with standard 2MP cam.

Tried everything to get free voip call over wlan with fring, skype msn and yahoo. Just got ring only and no phone voice both sides. Enabled video conference over GSM paid service and got phone voice and video reception but since no second camera only my voice was transmitted without picture For camera version only as this one has no camera ). Some difficulty in keeping Wi Fi on permanently while using phone features for continuous surfing. Small screen
