Be careful of third party batteries. They have been known to explode while using the phone.

More than likely they differ in region.

Check the label for both of them and tell me where they were manufactured.

This label is below the battery.

Sloby, 23 Dec 2009The best keypad ever!!!To SLOBY:

Of all the Nokia phones I ever used I found the 6300 to have the best keypad. It was so soft to the touch yet being responsive and tactile.

If you have used a 6300 before, do you honestly consider the E52's keypad to be better ? If you have never used a 6300 before, would it be possible for you to get one to compare against the E52 ? If the E52's keypad beats the 6300 then I really have to get a E52.

I've used this phone for almost a week and had 0 problems with yet. No lockups or restarts. The only thing that bothers me is the build quality. It doesn't feels much sturdy. Few drops and I got the feeling frame or back cover will detach. The bottom part of the frame slightly slides left and right. There's slightly bigger gap between the front frame and the case, in top right corner, near 3.5 mm jack. Almost like 5800xm. Feels like very tender phone. Also the soft keys deeper than these "one-touch keys", sometimes causing you to open mailbox.

i think the little envelope is blinking because your SIM message is full.Go to Messaging, press the left soft key, and open your SIM messages and erase.

hi, the binking sms envelop sign can be removed by going into the messege and selectingoptions and the select sim messages ,,delet all the sim messages and the blinking sms sign will be gone.
it actually means that ur sim message memory is full.

These units that are causing so much problems are TEST UNITS of the First Batch and Nokia is still testing the consumer defects that are found. That is the WISDOM behind not rushing in to buy the NEWEST units but to wait for the later batches that will have STABLE SOFTWARE and better build quality.
SO wait until the newer units arrive with all defects corrected already.

Personally I love this phone because of its awesome battery life and slim profile, imagine having a thin ipod like phone in your front pocket listening to MP3 music. But I am willing to wait until the dust has settled and the phone software problems have been eliminated.

There is a huge difference between say Germany and India service quality. There is also the difference of quality in where the phone was manufactured. This info is important to see if there is a pattern. If phones from all over are commonly affected we know its the model. If it's is mostly in a certain area and with phones made in China for example it shows its not the phone specifically but where you get it.Use some sense posting and not just complain.

huba, 03 Jan 2010I've bought E52 two weeks ago & used it for 4 days only the... moreThis is weird. Why are there so many complaints against this one phone model?
There really is a problem with this particular model.
Buy I'm sure that Nokia will fix the later models that come out.
That is the wisdom of waiting until the better units with stable firmware are on the shelves.
Plus, the price would have gone down considerably.
                        Patience everyone.
And for those who have bought the early units and who plan to buy the unit now, THANK YOU for posting the problems so that these will be corrected by Nokia, and we who follow in your footsteps would enjoy the better, hassle-free units.
Keep on posting all new owners of the E52!

I've bought E52 two weeks ago & used it for 4 days only then it started to buzz while using it, it was buzzing all the time .. So I returned it and changed it with another E52 .. which wasn't supporting 3G !!
Then they told me we'll update ur software, but the problem remained, so I sent it to the service for a week then it was returned to me STILL THE SAME .. they didn't even check the problem !! and they said in their report that they've changed a part .. (LIARS). And till now i'm fighting Nokia Care, AND I DIDN'T USE THE PHONE SINCE I BOUGHT IT MORE THAT 4-5 DAYS ONLY.

g0t this ph0ne f0r over a m0nth n0w and so far i have never enc0untered a single pr0blem. I particularly l0ve this ph0nes br0wsing capacity,it's fast. Keypad is the best and as expected it is user-friendly. The only thing i have against this ph0ne is the s0und quality, the v0lume is n0t as l0ud c0mpared to a se walkman ph0ne. But that is to be expected bc0z se walkmas ph0ne was built for music. I just wish n0kia w0uld impr0ve the stereo quality of their ph0nes, i suggest them to c0py se headsets that really sticks to y0ur ears. It really irritates me that i have to frequently push my headset back to my ears. Other than that, this ph0ne is great and i Love it!

The pr0mpt for internet or wifi c0nnecti0n is due to an aplicati0n you have installed and mistakenly set up to a real time updates thus the frequent pr0mpr0mpt f0r an internet c0nnecti0n review all the applicati0ns you installed.as f0r the message ic0n, go to y0ur sim messages and erase the messages. I brought Nokia E 52 and I am facing some issues.

Phone auto matically restating while using netcall.
network reception capacity is not good in 900/1800 Frequesncy.
But OS is much better and faster than E51.

But the Black model has a silver bezel it's not solid black like some photos. They speak English at the Finland phone if you wait for the options. I agree Made in Finland is better..why risk more needing the warranty by buying Chinese? Euro made phones are of obviously better build quality.

Dear Waiting is a virtue - are you dreaming?

Nokia has not released a batch of test phones on the market, never have, never will. Did you make this one up yourself or did some knucklehead tell you this?

The E52 is a good reliable phone.

If you want a SLR camera - buy one.
If you want a laptopn computer - buy one.
If you want to run incompatible applications - you can expect all of the same problems that iPhones have.

This is a good performing business phone that has many nice features, good sytling and great battery life.

All of you who wish to compare it to SLR cameras, high end electronic componentry and advanced CPU features then just get a grip - its a phone that does more than a Blackberry or any other Nokia can.

MD - the black E52 is available in Singapore. You can buy it on the internet from anywhere as Nokia have a global warranty therefore point of origin is not relevant.

The reception is good. However, no phone is fantastic if you are in the middle of a concrete jungle. This phone is as good as any in these circumstances.

The software issues on this phone are gross exagerated. If you load it up with all kinds of non original applications it will have the usual outcome - incompatibility.

Buy this phone - its great. Singapore has all of the colours, (silver, black and brown).
