A Cold Day In Hell, 23 Oct 2009can anyone tell me about this phone? do you advice me to... moreIt has been a couple of days for me since I bought it. I find it pretty good. Quite fast, quite good looking,no. of applications, some little things like light leakage under Home button, back cover not matching with the body cover...Don't buy it without warranty, check it properly before finally buying, calling someone & checking on the voice quality etc. With Nokia it is part luck, you may end up with a good piece or in a queue of unlucky ones.

I am thinking of buying this phone but i recently found out that they're also selling a steel black version of that? All I know at the moment that it is available in O2. When will the black version of E52 be out in the market? Does anybody know so that I could wait for the black one instead?

The cell was purchased in India and now Nokia service centre refuses to repair it since its not officially launched here.

I dont know what to do and the cell is nothing more than a really expensive paper weight. I am really disappointed and have lost my trust on Nokia.

Well i'm using E52 for abt a month or so, the phone will restart itself sometimes, some bugs need to be fixed like pressing back at music player will stop the music that is playing, but i think upcoming softwaer update will solve this problem as nokia's phone usually face bug and software problem as they released, but still, its a good phone overall, great screen due to its resistant against sunlight, great battery that would last me at least 2 days with super heavy usage, quite speedy phone due to its good processor, and fast and accurate gps receiver it got as it work like a charm with garmin XT, 8.5/10 for it

Hi, anyone having idea from where new applications can be downloaded for the E52? The official Nokia OVI store doesn't seem to have any for the E52.
wrf to sound I plugged in the Nokia headphone provided along, first the jack didn't go fully and after some time the phone just hanged. Didn't bother me much as the only constant application that Nokia provides with each phone is the hanging one.

...and before i forget. It's so difficult getting the battery out. No wedge to help lift up battery. Even the battery cover sucks. It feels so light. I thought new versions were supposed to maintain the good on older versions and correct/improve their shortcomings. Looks like only the sofware guys did a good job (at least mine has'nt frozen..........yet).

the e51 is definately much more robust. I have actually gone back to it today. I am giving away the e52 to my girlfriend.Really disappointed.Apart from functionality, it does not feel like a nokia.

                        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_E52

the E52 suffers from many software problems, making it one of the most controversial Nokia Phones. known common problems include:

                        * the phone dies and needs to be taken to Nokia Repair Centres to be revived

                        * the phone crashes when copy/pasting large images, with the RAM in use being locked up until the phone software is re-installed

                        * Voice Call Problem, it get's cut when you are in a noisy area and the person you are calling could not hear you. No solutions as of October 5, 2009.

Anonymous, 22 Oct 2009i think that's the light sensor under that Home Button...Hi I couldn't get your comment on the light sensor under the Home button. You mean to say that it is deliberately done? If yes, why. If no, was that to refine my earlier words of "light leakage under the Home button"?

I bought TWO Nokia E52's from Singapore. 3 Weeks later, one phone wouldn't turn on and would not be recognised by the PC (as in completely dead). 2nd E52 reboots several times a day of its own accord, but mostly mid call. Have sent back to repair. Nokia Care center in Australia is really crap. I have used Nokia for over 12 years and am really disappointed. Even the N95 problems from 2 years ago weren't as bad as this. My current experience with the E52 is that it is full of bugs. As these bugs have been extensively reported for 4 months now, I don't see Nokia admitting that there is a problem or performing a recall. In my personal opinion, I really can't recommend Nokia phones at this point in time. As an owner of an iPhone 3GS, I have to say that from a reliability point of view, I am swayed to use that. I can accept a reboot occassionally, but not 5-10 times a day.... Additionally Nokia Care center in Melbourne have told me lies and if you look hard, there is actually no way to raise a complaint with Nokia. If you call the care line, there is no way to formally lodge a complaint! So honestly, it looks like Nokia has taken a big step backwards and is due to lose market share as a result.
