Just to add my voice to e52 users and hoping nokia people will take notice, just two weeks from purchase, my e52 failed to restart after charging. With regards to extended battery life as advertised,well, mine lasted only for 2 days max and needs to be charged. here's where the problem starts, you may not be able to re-start it again. Mine is still at nokia care center.

hello all,
After posting here many comments about this device now me have a question too.
I have saved my contacts and all other user files from my nokia device to the memory card(micro sd) and i have reseted my phone.
So, how can i restore this safe file (backup.arc) again to have all my old sms and contacts?

Well... it is really confusing... GSM Arena says Nokia E52 - E as in Exceptional with a flawless design and performance ... while many users here complain of many problems like freezing and hanging etc. Is the phone really faulty? or can an upgrade solve the problems?
Would like to hear from long time users.

after three weeks with restarting problem (and 2 times in service) my phone refused to start-up with message "Phone startup failed. Please contact the retailer". 3rh time at service, they replaced main module in phone (this means new phone with new IMEI). People, obviously it is not firmware problem. Send your phone to nokia care. Nokia Care said to me that If I send my phone 4 times to service, and I still have the same problem they need to change my phone. Good luck to all people withe the same oriblem.

for all who have the problem from E52: after get from the nokia care, QUICKLY sell that **** phone! before u regret.

anyway, my interest of getting e52 as replacement for my old faithful e398 has grown from eager to thin, to keep-in-view, seeing all the negative feedbacks shared by many here.

been using e52 since 1 october... no problem at all other than the thing with contacts with Company listings as posted a few days ago...

Hey people,
Please wait until nokia releases a new firmware version.
The noise cancellation feature is not perfected and there is no option to disable it.
I have been using this phone for over a month now.

Hmmm i would to buy this phone, i like E52 with a gold colour.
I would to change my old phone Nokia 6120C it's a small phone with a high speed processor.
E52 it's a nice phone to upgrade ?

Hi,
In my opinion, yes you all should wait until Nokia come out with new firmware update. Last month i also unsure which one to choose E71 or E52. So i went to a lot of shops in town and most of seller also told me the problem with E52 such as phone hang, restart etc. Now im using E71 for almost 3weeks and the phone is great. Honestly i still like E52 but maybe will wait for next few months before decide to buy it or not. Hope by that time Nokia have fixed all the issues with this phone.

I was using the 6233 for 3 years, wanting 6700 at first and then switched to e52. Now, still using 6233, can not decide what to do... Comments about e52 are too scary and 6700 is not for heavy users like me. My question for everyone is, too your experience, FOR HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE FIRST FIRMWARE UPGRADE OF E52???

I am buy e52 2 times, but i got the same problem twice, my handset was hang and can't turn on, i should send to service center and wait 1 month to repair

angel, 10 Oct 2009if im going to buy an e-series phone...which would be safer... moreI think you should at least wait for a firmware update before making a purchase just to have a few of the major kinks ironed out.
But if you wanna buy ot now, make sure to have a test run at the store.
