I don't think this is the first time NOKIA is releasing a model late. Besides, I saw that the N97 was announced in November 2008 and is shipping in June, and that's a good 7 months. So, I think they are probably going to wait and release both the E52 and E55 together in September or something. Just a guess though.

S60 and the Symbian Foundation - looking forward
As announced in June 2008, Symbian OS and S60 software assets have become a unified platform under the banner of the Symbian Foundation, which will allow community-driven development and focus marketing and discussion around the software.
S60.com web site will be closed down gradually by the end of June 2009 as a natural step within the Symbian OS and S60software transition into a unified platform and Symbian Foundation web site development process. Registration to S60.com was closed today, as well as the registration to the Ambassador program.
End-user contributions to S60.com content and S60 community have been extremely valuable part of S60 ecosystem development and we want to thank all the people who have provided their input for S60community during the past years. We would also like to thank all the S60 Ambassadors who have made the program successful with their passion and enthusiasm for S60 products and services.
Information on Symbian Foundation can be found at www.symbian.org. Those interested to join the discussion please visit blog.symbian.org. Symbian Foundation beta site will go public during this spring and will start providing services and collaboration opportunities for visitors. S60.com visitors are encouraged to explore the beta site when it goes public and send their feedback.
There are also other services offered by Nokia that welcome the participation and contributions of all mobile enthusiasts. We would like to encourage you to explore Nokia Beta Labs, Nokia Pilots, and My Nokia.

after read that article i think support of Symbian S60 will be discontinued & Nokia , Samsung , Sony Ericsson , LG , Motorola focus on Symbian Open Source.

I have the e51 right now. e55 seems to be the perfect upgrade to my phone. i have used the e71, e66 and e75. didnt like the full qwerty keyboard. it was difficult for me to type on it cuz of fat fingures. i'm faster with t9 on 51 than full qwerty on e71.
e51,e66,e71,e75 - they all share the same processor.
e55 is what i'm looking forward to buying by july end (hope its out in UAE by then). this will give me enough time to test it or any glitches to be corrected b4 i move to uk in sep.
the features that i like abt e55 is the 3.5mm jack (i used a 2.5 to 3.5 convertor right now) and the built in gps (i use the bluetooth receiver). screen is the same size as e75 which i like. usb charging is an advantage when using it as a gprs modem for laptops!!
lets see if it lives up to its expections
