theos1983, 08 Sep 2011no ofcause no the widget wifi is where i can se if its actu... moreIf you set to 12 hours, it only connects every 12 hours to check email. Or when I open the email widget to see what email I received.
Battery life : 2 days moderate use, NO power saving- 2 to 3 hours web surfing, 1 hour videos, 1 hours calls/sms per day. Casual web surfing doesnt drain the battery as much as watching videos, the resolution thing. I charge at 35% or 20%
Brightness, I didnt change, no 3 I think. 4 homescreen with active wallpaper. Vibrate on, touchscreen vibrate at level 3, the max. BUT, I dont play games on my phone, so that saves battery
Moderate use: it goes down 35% per day. Light use=25% per day. Heavy use:55% per day.
If light use, it can go up to 3 to 4 days before charging. But what's the point buy smartphone if dont want to fully enjoy the features.
I briefly tested with power save on, not much difference. I want the vibrate mode on, so...I dont use power save. You test a couple of weeks, see what works for you.

Wow,you deleted the WLAN widge... moreno ofcause no the widget wifi is where i can se if its actually on or off after switching to manual it seen to be working ill find out when i get home tonight when my phone reads my wifi conection at home that im using as my wifi connection if i dosnt connect or after i connect it and then disconect it with out it starting on its onw then it was because it was on auto as you told me!!! i thought i had a problem with the tought it didnt function but thenn realised it was because i had the power mode on after it was off it worked perfet realy bright light even at day time!!! how long does you phone go for and how do you use its? exp powersaver on or off? how many call txt and internet connections a day?

1) Menu->settings->connectivity->Settings->Switch to WLAN, choose manual
2) Data use in home country, you can choose "Home network" or "always ask"
3) Data use when abroad I put as "Always Ask". It will ask if I want to use wlan(wifi) or my 3G internet
The wifi widget, choose "Switch WLAN off"

Cos the wi... moreive set my email to 12 hours is this option good? what does this do thow? im new to theses kind of phones im used to normal phone and smartphone that didnt have wifi . well this morning before going to work i fully charged it and deleted the wifi connection i had saved and been using power save. and its ween almost 10 hours since i charged it and ive received mtxt phone calls and so and still shows 100% battery , last night before deleting the wifi and it was searching every time i disc it the battery droped to 65% in 2-3 hours and doing nothing

theos1983, 08 Sep 2011is this why the battery gets sucked in 12hours and so even ... moreI get about 30 hours in a row and then i email surf 1-2 hours a day. no bloody widgets on, just shortkeys on startscreen. 3 startscreens.. black background light settings enough. never use 2G. it is better than other modern phones.

Cos the wifi keeps autoscanning to connect to internet to check for email.
Menu->Setting-> Mail->settings->'email address'-> Auto Retrieval->change settings to 4 hours, 12 hours or per day. Default is soonest.
Also- Off the auto updates for your facebook, news agency, whatsapp. Logout facebook when you dont intend to use for long time, if not it will keep scanning & updating news feed.
I dont notice battery life difference between powersaving & non power saving. If it's on power save, the vibrate is off & keypad light. Anyway, seems there's a function to totally off WLAN in the Belle update later

Only my second day of owning the E6. I love the phone. I have Wi-fi scanning turned off when i don't need it to save the battery. People should note though, the phone comes with the network settings for dual mode, and the phone would randomly switch on and off throughout the day. I switched to GSM mode and this seemed to fix the problem. Maybe it's because I don't have a data plan...

But for the E6 I can mention these things:
1. E6 can easily be handled with only one hand
2. Hot swapable sd-card (you don´t have to shut down you phone on E6) when you want to insert the card in a computer
3. Good battery endurance on E6 compared to Arc or every android actually.
4. Most likely better with E6 regarding voice calls, sound reception to the net.
5. E6 is def. more robust built.
6. Arc somewhat have better camera.
7. Regarding apps, all necessery apps on both system,
8. Nokia Maps, free lifetime maps, free voice navigating
9. Nokia pc program OVI van sync with Thunderbird and Outlook of course.
10. I would also say that the mail client is better in E6, including Microsoft Communicator (if your company use it, very useful)
One thing that is better with Arc is casually webb surfing, but if one just is sitting stioll and "have the time" to surf in piece I think E6 is doing well. The screen is excellent, crispy but sometimes you have to switch browser because the high resolution of the screen of E6. You an actually say that E6 is a liitle to soon for the future. I sometimes change to opera mini for webbrowsing. I use glasses.
The keyboard i find super on the E6,and of course to be able to manage making sms with only one hand. Higly underrated.

hi guys could anyone help me out on why does my wifi connect on its own even if i dissconect it after a few sec it refreshes and reconnect on its own again i have all the option off not to connect with out me wanting so is the anything ive missed and it connecting all the time?
