Yeah I have read your review and others too b4 deciding to buy E61i. The batt only last me around 1.5 days.
Somehow I dont hear the beep for low batt while I am talking on the phone. By the way I am using bluetooth handsfree. Now I am wondering could it be the battery is faulty since the phone can just shut off suddenly while I am talking & I didnt hear any beep sound.

There is no option to set the Notification light to blink for voice messages.

There is also a software bug connected to the email key.It keeps launching the web browser even after you have installed Blackberry Connect and configured the email key.

Make sure the phone is not on silent and it should beep like any other phone when the battery is low. Btw you can view my review of the E61i here:

I just got my E61i few days ago. I realised the phone does not ALERT or BUZZ the user when the battery is running low. I called the service centre & was informed that Nokia E61i series does not have this alert feature. I was surprised to hear this. Can anyone clarify this for me?

This phone is targeted towards the business audience. We've made it more slimmer and compact in comparison to the previous Nokia e61. The Nokia e61 was covered in plastic while this mobile handset is covered in stainless steel. A 2 megapixel camera has been also added along with many software updates.Anyone who is wondering if this mobile handset is music oreintated-it is. There is an amazing media player and the speakers have been tested and work really well. This phone is great for watching videos and is great for Wi-fi. Look forward to the n81 if you like to play games a lot and listen to music with 8GB built in memory. Also look forward for the n82, which features Wi-fi, a 5megapixel camera with Xenon flash and integrated protection. That's all the specs I'll tell you guys. These new handsets will come out at the end of 2007 (December), and they will cost more than 500 dollars. By the way, I'm from Germany. I hope this information helps.

can anyone tell me whether it's difficult to change the input languages on these, and what input languages come with the stock american key layout (i.e., no åöä, etc.).

i'm on the fence, but if i could easily switch between swedish, icelandic, german and english i'd be all over this.

Migrated from Nokia 9500 and Hp 6365, No doubt its a Wonder Phone , wish if it had a webcam in front like 3G would have been More Better.

Many of you may find this software useful IM+: AIM/ iChat, MSN/ Live Messenger, Yahoo!, ICQ, Jabber and Google Talk for all S60 Phones and you can find it at this link http://software.gsmarena.com/product.asp?id=250
you could try to find a hole free share not just a trial..

For all of you who want to change their mobile phone try to settle for a model that is already on the market don't wait for new realeses because by the time you are going to buy those models newer realeses will already be announced and the newest phones are expansive too...was only trying to make a point

my next phone will defenitly be E61i...so I have a questions for you owners of this model :):
because of the 2.8 inches and 16 M display I want to use it to watch movies on it..I owned an ipod-video and exept the coverting part of the movie I am interested in case any of u used it like this if the quality of the image is good and if there are any bugs freeze moments or delays while viewing a hole lets say 90 min. movie...thanks in advance. Raul

Getting Yahoo! and Hotmail to work on this thing... well... Hotmail is not possible since Hotmail no longer allows POP access. If you can somehow install Outlook onto this phone, you can probably utilize the HTML email option that outlook has. Other than that, you can try looking for a program that'll make it work without having to find a mobile version of outlook that'll install on this.

As for Yahoo! Mail, as far as I know, POP access requires you to upgrade your free membership to one where you must pay. I do know that for my friend's Blackberry phone, however, the phone already handled Yahoo! emails. Not sure how that works, but this phone isn't a Blackberry.

I have installed Blackberry Connect on my E61i and configured my email key for my Blackberry account. When I press the email key to open up the Blackberry Application it launches the web browser and takes me to the Nokia Business Software Website,VERY STRANGE.I can only assume that this must be a software bug.

I have also noticed that the call quality from the earpiece speaker (not loudspeaker) is not as good as it was on my E61.It seems to have a harsh rasp sound to it. I guess Nokia must have used a different speaker in the E61i.

                        No Probs.. happy to help...
As this is my first s60 v3 phone i'm on a learning curve...
And i had a problem... i searched the net for freeware and wanted some games to install with extra applications etc.... came accross some great s60 v3 freeware lists.. but when i tried to install them it wouldn't let me... So again i went and searched for an answer.. lo and behold, my application manager was set to 'signed applications only'.. so i set it to 'allow all' and happy days... i was able to install a freeware Suduko game, and s-tris (tetris)... also installed other app's and it works great.
One thing i noticed about alot of app's available for s60v3 was that the e61i already had similar app's installed... like people who owned the e61 decided to install a better calulater app.. 'Calicum', so i installed it only to find that the e61i calulater was already superior. I'm so very very happy with the phone at the minute... and also i found a few extra battery saving options... now i've had my phone fully charged for 12hrs and it still say's 100%... i'll report back as to how long it will last with the best settings and moderate usage.

                        Take care all...

                        Dave

Thanks for the infos, Dave. Now I am verrry close to buying this phone, maybe I am just waiting for something to really convince me...I really don't even know what that could be.

email button.... you can fully customise the buttons to take you where ever you want. they prob set it up to send you there so you can download the right mail appllication.

RE: Skype & MSN.. use www.fring.com (honestly.. do your homework).
Currently this app reboots on fring/skype calls but chat is ok... this is a fring software problem they know about and are trying to fix... what can i say, it's the same with everything new.. takes a while to fully intergrate with everything and fix all the bugs.

RE: One Handed usage... you can use it one handed, but not as fast as a normal phone.. it's best to use both hands... i've just converted over from SE K750i which i used one handed all the time... and i'm more than happy using this 2 handed... the qwerty keyboard is much faster anyway.

RE: upgrade from 9300i.. you'll notice a big difference in the screen, it really is a beautiful screen, battery life is good too (so long as you don't abuse wifi)... the other option for you is the E90 coming out soon, i was going to wait for it, but then went for this.. and to be honest.. never looked back.

RE: Camera... the ONLY reason i wanted a camera is for 1. car crashes 2. little stupid pix that don't need to be high quality. === This is no substute for a real digital camera, and you can't expect it to be.. but it does the job it's suppose to.

RE: too wide? I find it's a comfy phone to use, i was a bit worried about it being too big for my pocket etc.. but i was wrong... it's so slim, and not that wide... I would say that for it's functionality.. it's a perfect size.

anyway i've taken up way too much room here... time for someone else to share...

Take care all, and good luck with what every choices you make.

When you press the key with the envelope symbol on it (email key)it launches the web browser and takes you to the Nokia Business Software Website.Surely this must be a bug.

The Notification Light doesn't blink when someone leaves you a voicemail message.
In the Notification Light settings it needs an option for voicemail messages so you can set it to blink.
                                  NOKIA PLEASE TAKE NOTE.

Ali: yes, it is a little bit wide which can make one-handed operation difficult in some, but not many, circumstances. However, it needs to be wide to accommodate the brilliant, big screen. It's no fashion phone, but is an excellent high-end business phone.
