email button.... you can fully customise the buttons to take you where ever you want. they prob set it up to send you there so you can download the right mail appllication.
RE: Skype & MSN.. use www.fring.com (honestly.. do your homework).
Currently this app reboots on fring/skype calls but chat is ok... this is a fring software problem they know about and are trying to fix... what can i say, it's the same with everything new.. takes a while to fully intergrate with everything and fix all the bugs.
RE: One Handed usage... you can use it one handed, but not as fast as a normal phone.. it's best to use both hands... i've just converted over from SE K750i which i used one handed all the time... and i'm more than happy using this 2 handed... the qwerty keyboard is much faster anyway.
RE: upgrade from 9300i.. you'll notice a big difference in the screen, it really is a beautiful screen, battery life is good too (so long as you don't abuse wifi)... the other option for you is the E90 coming out soon, i was going to wait for it, but then went for this.. and to be honest.. never looked back.
RE: Camera... the ONLY reason i wanted a camera is for 1. car crashes 2. little stupid pix that don't need to be high quality. === This is no substute for a real digital camera, and you can't expect it to be.. but it does the job it's suppose to.
RE: too wide? I find it's a comfy phone to use, i was a bit worried about it being too big for my pocket etc.. but i was wrong... it's so slim, and not that wide... I would say that for it's functionality.. it's a perfect size.
anyway i've taken up way too much room here... time for someone else to share...
Take care all, and good luck with what every choices you make.

When you press the key with the envelope symbol on it (email key)it launches the web browser and takes you to the Nokia Business Software Website.Surely this must be a bug.

The Notification Light doesn't blink when someone leaves you a voicemail message.
In the Notification Light settings it needs an option for voicemail messages so you can set it to blink.
NOKIA PLEASE TAKE NOTE.

Ali: yes, it is a little bit wide which can make one-handed operation difficult in some, but not many, circumstances. However, it needs to be wide to accommodate the brilliant, big screen. It's no fashion phone, but is an excellent high-end business phone.

For those people who own this Nokia E61i, I wanted to ask; is the phone too wide? I really like this phone but am concerned that it'll be too wide & uncomfortable to use it with only 1 hand (?). Please let me know.

Re: battery life..
Firstly i've had this phone now for a week, and i love a lot of things about it...
Everything worked perfectly.. push email, meadia player, bluetooth, battery life was excellent etc...
Except 1 problem i could only surf 1 or 2 pages on my wifi connection, then it would time out etc... So i googled it to see if anyone had any answers and i found that when i turned the wifi power saving option off the wifi worked perfectly, however my battery now only lasts 16-18hrs moderate use, and the phone feels hot, like it's squeezing every little bit of power out of the battery all the time.
So i'm switching the wifi back onto 'Power Saving mode' and hopefully it'll be back to normal.
Note: to get to power saving option
Menu>Tools>Settings>Connection>Wireless LAN>(left soft button) Advanced Settings>(turn auto config off)>powersaving
Hope that helps anyone with A: battery problem, or B: wifi problem.

If your battery isn't lasting you very long, try turning off WLAN scanning. I left mine on and the battery depleted faster than it does now that I have it off. Could be just my imagination though.

I got this phone 2 month back, and i got 2 problems:
1 - phone turns off by itself
2 - battery lasts me half a day
Could possibly be battery problem? phone turning off by itself maybe due to battery, and lasting me only half a day also. I am a moderate user, the usual, work blue tooth headset and SMS.
HELP advice please :)
Thanx
L.

Not a comment, but a question for the E61i users.
I have read all the technical info from the readers, thanks.
But! It's basic function is a phone, does it have a loud enough ringing volume?
Thanks.

Hi Ayodele,
Thanks for your responce, I left out grey area not clarified.
Firstly, are the applications for Nokia N80 which I presently use; compatable with the E61i ?
Secondly, while viewing video clips and browsing the net, do you get borders around the screen ?
Thridly, could you confirm if the E61i use 330hz proccessor. I'd very much like to know if you expirence any lag while switching menus. Does it frezee during usage ?
Lastly, is the back cover made of metal ?
Thanks in anticipation.

@jaja, gsmarena recently got review of this phone. So u can find sample picture there, whice are taken by e61i. Look at homepage of gsmarena. But mine takes much better pic than what they posting in review. E61i's camera isn't best on low light.

@dinesh, mine email key works fine. And battary life is wowsam. I've p990i too. But this phone is greater than that. P1i's os is't good as s60 os. And web browser of e61i is best. And it is much better than 9500 (someone ask) cause it is new version than 9500. E61i's web browser has a mouce pointer like n93, whice moves by nevigation key, so for that web browsing is same like pc. And camera quality is same as n70 or nokia's usual 2 mega pixel camera. It has'nt flash. And it comes with a mono headset but with sterio headset sounds is good cause it's builtin media player is same as n93, also got extra bass option. This is the best mobile for browsing ever I've.
