I have just bought the E61i and I have found the first Software Bug.
When you press the key with the envelope symbol on it (Email Key) it launches the web browser and takes you to the Nokia Business Software website.

I'm torn between this & the forthcoming SE P1 which looks good too. I see that the e61i has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g whereas the P1 only has "b". Forgive my ignorance but does that mean that the P1 won't connect up to as many WiFi hot-spots or just that it'll do it slower. Appreciate any advice/opinions.

This is unarguably the best phone I've gotten. I almost settled for the E61, but thank God I chilled a little longer. As per net surfing, it's simply fantastic! 'As good as doing it on the conventional PC. A drawback is that the battery life doesn't last long as I have to recharge almost daily. I'm yet to see how the blackberry connection works as only Glo provides that in my country for now, but GPRS and WLAN work very well for me. Gotten my pals green with envy. If you want quick and excellent connection to the net a la biz solutions without having to worry about carrying your laptop around, you won't regret buying this phone. Thumbs up to Nokia. At last!

16M stands for 16 million colors
              262k stands for 262 000 colors

One is obviously much better than the other one...

16M means it can display 16 million colors and 262k can only display 262 thousand colors, so 16M is alot better

it doesnt have a built in navigation, but the only thing u need to do is buy the nokia bluetooth navigation. The nav. software is already installed in the E61i.

NaD... do you even have this phone? How do you know if it's non user-friendly if you don't have it? And if you do have it, then why'd you buy it if you think it's ugly? Besides, this phone isn't supposed to be flashy, it's for business.

                                    Hi Mikey,

Nokia's E61i is fully compatible to work on Cingular networks throughout United States. It's a quadband GSM phone and that the carrier utilizes one of the GSM frequency bands that the phone is capable of handling on their network.

To assure you of it's compatibility, go to www.importgsm.com, select Nokia E61i, click on "will this phone work with my carrier?" under research and choose Cingular carrier. A pop out dialog box will inform you if it's compatible. All quadband and triband GSM phones are workable on Cingular network. Hope this information helps you.

                                    Sincerely,

                                    Stan

I know about symbian .sis but symbian .uiq has less applications and specially free ones . But the main apps that im tring to figure out is agile messenger and divx player the files are .sis and this phon
e runs on uiq . Divx agile messenger hier and many products may not have .uiq support .
is any one using agile or divx on the e61i if not i guess i awnsered the question .

mickey, this phone's UMTS network will not work on cingular. I live in canada and i tried this with an N90. The UMTS does not support. For the UMTS band to work on cingular in the US, it must have the 1900 3G band, and this phone has the 2100 3G band (for Europe and Asia)
