I have this phone for a week. It's very nice phone. But I have a question. My provider has an option of unlimited e-mail. But they want us to buy their phones which have Windows Mobile. Does anybody knows if when I get that option will it work with Nokia E61i? Maybe you know how to make it work? Thanks everybody!!!

Definitely you get value for money…it’s a fantastic phone, I am using the E61i now since more than 8.months...
Download and install a few additional programs, like Opera mini, emoze, nimbuzz…there you go.
I was going along with SE since 2000, went trough the whole P Series, P800 until 990i, but they just got worse.
So... I am one, out of a few with changed from SE to Nokia, result….no regrets at all.

I have used it for couple of weeks and I am happy of its performance. Be it the voice or net surfing or even camera etc. flip side is No FM and only 1 minute voice recording unlike 1 hour Video recording

I love this phone! It's very compact and very robust. This phone will give you more fun if you have a free WLAN access or internet flatrate.

                      pros:
                      - Email work best with this phone. I have an gmail account and sync the email with IMAP. Everytime I come home, the WLAN connects automatically and new mails can be read immediately.
                      - You can watch youtube with this phone!

                      cons:
                      - Sometimes the phone's web browser cannot handle complex web pages.
                      - No internal GPS receiver.

There has been rumours about an upcoming E71i which is an upgraded version of E61i with QWERTY keyboard and GPS. Anyone knows anything about it?

go to getjar.com and they have a free IM messanger for yahoo google and aim msn. and games for free. as far games get a nintendo emulador for symbian phones and works great on my e61i and you pay 15 bucks for the emulator and theres a trillion websites with free games like mario 1 and 3 punch out etc etc. and people complain about the slow browser get opera mini 4 and your phone its worth gold. opera work trillion times faster with wifi. people need to make research and stop been lazy free software dont come from the sky if you dont look for it so come on

It is the best cell phone that i ever have. the key to make it runs well is don't ever install any untrust software even from nokia mosh, or any other software support. To make it running well, U must let half of phone memory card empty, use no more than 2 giga external memory, charge it when it says baterai is low for the first time, always turn off the bluetooth devices, for transfering data much better if u use nokia pc suite, don't ever use card reader, or bluetooth for transfer data unless u confident enough to transfer it to ur trusty friend, never make unuse folder in it, just use the default folder, for wlan connection, never use connection that u doubt its secure, use one of the safest connection, for themes never add any themes from website's software applications but use only from original nokia website or u will find that u never can delete it cause ull not find it in app manager unless u reformat the external memory, install only one anti virus with update options work properly, (i suggested u use f-secure or net qin) and use automatic lock for ur security. if u need any information just email me, clarry_ta@yahoo.com. GBU

For anyone thinking of buying the E61i, here's some useful information:
                                    1. It is a sleek business phone for three good reasons:
(1)Full Qwerty keyboard (don't waste time making typos and correcting),
(2)Large screen but very slim and sleek (fits into pockets easily and looks smart with no unsightly bulge)
(3)Can browse, have push mail, chat, and maintain organizer.

Good (and FREE) software to use on the phone:
                                    (1) Fring (for voice chat over google/msn/yahoo; www.fring.com)
                                    (2) mig33 (for text chat over google/msn/yahoo; www.mig33.com)
                                    (3) emoze (for push mail with gmail; www.emoze.com)
You can have all 3 programs running in background for a constant "LIVE" experience.

Bad things about the phone (but still not bad enough to change my mind about buying it):
                                    1. It's a little too WIDE for comfort. Better to use a bluetooth headset for long voice calls.
                                    2. Quickly runs out of memory when browsing large webpages.
                                    3. Takes a *while* to restart.
                                    4. WLAN can be tricky at times; but you'll get the hang of it if you're patient enough.

                                    Final say:
"For its price, the Nokia E61i is an extremely good bargain for business executives who like to spend time on their mobile devices for serious work as well as serious fun. It is what a business phone should look and feel like; and its performance is nothing below Nokia standard. However, for non-business users, it is NOT a good choice at all; After all! They don't call it an E-Series for nuthin!"

                                      Hi

We are using this ph in our office. We can't seem to browse the Internet via WLAN it keeps defaulting to 3G.
We have managed to get the phone's email working via WLAN.
Anyone know how to set it up? Thanks.

I need help. Each time I try reading a website (even newspapers / mags on the web), I am told "memory full, close some applications". What do I need to close down? I hardly have any extra applications on my E61i. Yes, I do have a 1MB software installed for a push mail facility on my mobile set courtesy my network, which runs continually, but that shouldn't be coming in the way of using the web, should it?
Would someone please show how to come around tthis problem! I'd be very grateful! Please!!!
