1 month and no complaints,almost, 'bout the wonderful E61i. Strangely, I've never been able to reach my Yahoomail inbox thro GPRS (Hutch, India) as each time after I sign in, Y!mail home page is what's loaded again. I tried WLAN access once and no problems with that in accessing Y!mail. This problem's really handicapping me. Is there anything simple I'm missing? I'm no great technowhiz, could somebody please help me out??!!

    hey sandman...even i am facin the same problem.......on top of tht on openin some applications i am gettin a system error with a negative code...eg: "camera system error(-1)"....can ne one help with this?????

      Yes I do admit that business people need the radio. I for one end up listening to BBC on my 6280, so yeah it would be convenient to have it.

      2ndly having major multimedia capabilities would be nice for when one wants to relax to music.

      3rdly the camera is said to be 2MP and my wife uses a 6300 but the clarity is way superior! I dont know whether it was hastily bundled to just calm us demanding users. Lets hope they will improve on this as someone said, maybe put it a flash too!

      4thly the single ear bud headphones suck big time and look very odd. And when listening to a song dont make for enjoyable listening! They do need to rethink that for real.

      just wanted to say yes i love the phone but I am not blind to its shortcomings. Still I made an informed choice, noone put a gun to my head to buy the cell.

      I m not sure that this one has the Encyclopedia. I know the 6300 has a dictionary which doesnt exactly autocomplete or autosuggest.

      I do believe that this phone was made to be like how you use your computer. It writes what you know WYSIWYG. it does not 2nd guess u.

      I love the qwerty keyboard bcoz it allows me to write in my vernacular languages faster than if there was T9 which I'd have to spell for all the time.

      And as someone else said, we hope Nokia monitor such forums for input into their research and design process.

        I have tried to read each & every bit peace of information about E61i. It is my dream phone. I am definately planning to buy it.

          Mig33 will work,
          Agile messenger works for all Google Talk, MSN etc.. (Check WAP setting if not connecting.) For Kernal error try rebooting phone by removing the battery for a minute.

            Hi every1,
            Need some help.
            My E61i is 1 month old. I don't know what I've done but now there is a pop-up showing "App.Closed: Main, KERN-EXEC 0".
            Can anybody help me on this, please.

              I have been looking for the best antivirus for my Nokia e61i smartphone. Anybody has one to recommend, and what are the procedures of installing (or downloading) it to my phone?

                Heyyy everyone!!
                1)Has anyone tried using mig33 on nokia E61i???
                2)where did you download it from??
                3)Has anyone heard of Agile Messenger???does this software work independantly or ther is a need of another software to be installed so this one can work efficiently??
                4)i have installed ONLY agile messenger and i log in normally on msn and everything but it never signs me in...stays on the "connecting screen" for ever!!help??

                  Abi, both phones are functionally almost identical. I think the main differences are the larger screen and the full QWERTY keyboard on the 61 and the possibility to edit Excel and Word on it (65 only allows you to view these documents). The metal parts of the 61 scratch easily and the leather-like back of the 65 wears away quickly, but both are great phones. Good luck!
                  p.s. E61i isn't at all too large, it is actually one of the slimmest Nokia phones.

                    hi voodoochild,thanks for your comment.you have actually reminded me.wat do they call the function(is it text input?]especially o2 or hp has it.example words like 'encyclopedia',,while we type the first few alphabetes,ex. encyclo...the completion of "encyclopedia" appear automatically.is there any we can install this function? please assist,,tq.

                      Hey guys just read all opinions about this nokia and also about the nokia E65 and im totally torn between the two. I have no idea which to go for and really need to decide fast as I am in desperate need of a new phone. I know this one has more memory space and greater battery life and both phones have similar features but the E65 is smaller in size and im not sure if the E61i is going to be too bulky to carry around in the pocket. Please feel free to say your part and help me in my choice. Will be much appreciated.

                        i will buy this phone soon. really like the design and functions in it.

                        im now using Nokia E65 which is cool and really good phone too!!

                          Hello everyone,
                          I have had this phone for about 4 days now and I truly enjoy using it. The speaker (sound) is great and reception is surprisingly very good. I thought that the camera will be okay but again, another surprise it was very good for not having a flash and being a 2MP. Typing text messages is very comfortable with the keyboard. Batery life on the E61i is amazing. To sum it up, all normal functions for this phone are very good (atleast for my use). The big screen is great and the phone has a very elegant look to it and a definate head turner. All of the other functions such as mobile office and wifi are great too, i used a little bit of each and so far it has only been 4 days so i still have to use alot of applications.

                            Mmmm.... Voodoochild; interesting name; sorry to spoil the party but this device is supposed to have radio. Do they not know that businessmen have to listen to the news eg BBC World, Voice of America etc. Secondly, the screen at 2.8 inches should be VGA resolution to capture more detail in tables and charts; afterall it is a business device. Thirdly why is there only one earpiece when humans have two ears?? Fourthly if you want to implement a stills camera, make it to contemporary standards ie 3,2MP autofocus.

                              I know this may sound weird. But i really wish Nokia to introduce an E61i MUSIC EDITION. It may have some gigabytes of memory and a radio. I can bet, that is the dream of many E61i lovers. I know its a business phone. But there's nothing wrong to mix business with pleasure... I wish nokia reads my mail.

                                  Why would u need a T9 dictionary when u have a full qwerty keyboard? The T9 is meant to facilitate faster typing in lieu of a full keyboard which this phone has. Its like you are asking for a bicycle ride from London to Moscow after you have just been given a LearJet!

                                  For all those who whine about the E61i not having a radio please go to the nearest electronics shop and get a Hi-fi system!

                                  The last time I checked this was called E61i PHONE! Not a radio or PC (whiners about editing documents/ppts). It is first and foremost a cell with other applications as technology is converging. The additional applications eat into battery performance then you d be moaning about that too!

                                  When you but a product know that you are buying something that is not a JACK OF ALL TRADES! Besides if the companies made them so perfectly we would not change phones and they would soon be out of business in addition to that being a sign that their research and design dept is dormant.

                                  So before u buy a phone and come to a forum like this to whine and gripe, ask your dealer, network etc about the pros and cons.

                                  And when you are sharing your experiences do share the positives too!

                                    Dear E61i users,
                                    I love this phone and yes i spend a lot less time now in the office since i can virtually take all the files with me etc. Need some help, Since day one my phone hangs when either the other party i am calling is busy or when he/she rejects my calls. I check with firmware updator and its says i have the most update software. Can anybody help me here? Thank you so much.

                                      I have both E90 and E61i. I am in love with both but I usualy work on E61i. I don't why but I find it more easy and handy to use. Typing is also awesome.
                                      I have decided to keep E61i and leave my E90.

                                        how can you say such lies . Tell me a manufacturer who produces microSD 7gb ? And by the way . Where i can 4 gb micro sd cards in holland/france/belgium/germany that work on this phone without lag.
