Not sure where the negative comments are coming from, but I bought mine in Sept. from the Nokia store and I'm absolutely happy with it. The only complaint was the Nokia maps app. kept freezing my phone, so I exchanged the phone. No hassle exchange and no complaints since then. The battery lasts at least two days without needing to be charged and that's with average talking annd texting. Using the web for extended amounts of time does drain the battery a lot faster though.

TIPS TO INCREASE BATTERY LIFE (WORKS WELL!):
.Decrease backlight brightness.
.Decrease ringtone volume.
.If possible also switch off the vibration function.
.Try to use WiFi only when the charger is plugged in.
.Turn off Bluetooth when not needed.
.Use darker themes rather ones with too much white.
.Disable the screen saver (animated ones eat a lot of the battery charge).
.Don't use animated wallpapers.
.Charge your phone only when it has no charge at all or somewhere near that.
.Charge it completely (till the battery is full). Do not take it off charging halfway through.
.Empty the battery completely twice a week and charge the phone while it is off.
.Exit all apps that you don't need (Home Key - Long Press).
.If you want to save charge and you aren't expecting any calls switch the phone to offline mode.
.Don't use the camera unnecessarily.
.Don't use 3G/Dual Mode. Use only GSM if possible.
I get AT LEAST 2 and at most 4 days thanks to these instructions given by anon and a few which I added myself!
Thanks anon!
P.S. I hope you don't mind me reposting your instructions. It was all scattered, I thought it'd help if I combined them all into one post and add some of mine.
Also please note that the phone has sacrificed a huge battery to maintain a small structure. So those of you who are whining about the battery life, would you rather have a big, fat fugly phone with a good battery or a sexy slim phone with an okay battery?

John, 06 Jun 2009hi all i have just bought original E66-1, but dissapoint... moreIf the ambient light is bright the keypad back light disappears. It's supposed to do that. I don't think there's anyway you can switch this feature off.

Despite my previous comment on battery life I noticed something.
It lasts about 2 days with normal use if I'm somewhere really hot (like 30-35°C), and about 4 days if it's colder (15-20°C here now).
So don't keep it too close to your body or somewhere hot.
Tips:
1. 1-3 long charges at first
2. after that just charge about half way through (if you have time)
3. full discharge and recharge every 2 weeks or so (if 2)
4. full discharge is when the sound notice plays (0-1 battery bar left), not when you can't turn the phone on again

i have my E66 for 2 weeks loading gps signal more than 2 minutes
battery charger is not good for this phone
needs a 890 ma nokia travelers charger
unload 3g and vibration for best performance
let the phone run out of battery and then charge it
for one and a half hour or until it is full
the other charger did no good and went hot
battery lasts not more than 3 days but its worth it
you can charge it whenever you want with the old charger but with the new one better but slower
