It is only possible to lika N8 or E7 if you never ever have really used Android. I was a Nokia-fan that used all the "arguments" you now use to defend Symbian and Nokia, but when N97 mini disappointed me I decided to try and buy an Android phone and I was "blown away" and amazed by how very mych better Android is.
If you have never used anything else but Symbian and Nokia, then you will lova N8 and E7, but if you dare leaving Symbian and try Android you wil never ever want to go back to Symbian, unless your a Nokia-employee.
Nokia is the only, dying dinosaur, that still hang on to the outdated Symbian, while all other companies have moved on and upgraded to a more modern OS. Nokia is welcome to join the Android world when they can not rely on brandfanatic Nokia-fans to buy their phones anymore. Almost all problems with N8 and E7 is a result of Symbian.

          Hii all,

if we ar going to make points, then we have to sound Nokia about the following:
          1)- Battery life.
          2)- processor.
3)- how smooth is the sumbian^3 compared to Android???

The memory issue, is not big deal.
please Gsmarena, rise the above issues to Nokia before we get disappointed again with this great ( so far ) phone
          Regards.

Nokia e7 = 16GB and no MicroSD slot.

If they did the same thing with the battery that they did to the N8 (made it impractical to swap / remove in daily use) then this will be another disappointment (to me).

It's a shame they are taking cues from Apple here (embedded battery and non-removable / upgradeable / replaceable storage)

That might be a bit mean ,the e7 is a very sexy slim device and will probably end up buying one when it comes down in price..The c6-01 and c7 are out i do need button input, ive tried numerous touchscreen devices and CANNOT get on with them especially as your walking along in a crowd etc,its all nice inside sat down with full concentration but out in real world i am finished with pure touchscreens.

The next item i am keeping an eye on with e7 c6 and n8 is battery,it may well do 50hrs music and big talktimes but you get web browsing and you will get 4-5 hrs i reckon,,time will tell..I also have never owned an Apple product in my life, never an i-pod ,nothing, cant stand the way they control you it reminds me of three network 2003-2005 with their walled garden web browsing,,i buy sim free devices (usually second hand) and do what i want with then with NO bloatware from companys and updates almost immedeatly..Sometimes i am proud of preaching what say..

Stuntman, 03 Oct 2010If you do get a netbook, you will still need a phone as wel... moreI am wholly with you their i too am what they call a convergence device person..At this moment i use e72 and n86/wave for mutimedia events.I am disappointed at nokias output this year being mainly button phone person and was really hoping for a communicater smartfone clamshell dual scren,,in fact the e90 updated with new hardware would do.

So i wait again to see what happens next but bothered that symbian^3 and ^4 will only be touchscreen and the days of n95 and n86 devices dont work with the new symbian,,oohhh a updated n95 with 2010 spec, lovely.

BRYNN, 03 Oct 2010wELL what abount memory ,its internal slow rubbish,buisness... moreIf you do get a netbook, you will still need a phone as well. I would rather just have one device that can handle calls, emails and any other forms of messaging. Being able to surf the net is also nice.

I haven't used a netbook, so I'm not sure of its value if I have a smartphone and a laptop already. If I have to do some heavy doc editing, I would pull out my laptop. For checking email, messaging and calls, I have my smartphone.

I own a 5800 and this E7 has bigger screen than 5800, so demands more power, and bigger processor, that demands more power too, but E7 has smaller battery than my 5800 (1200 x 1320 mAH). That is a receipt too tragedy, E7 user probably will charge E7 every six hours.

Yes I've read the lengthy post. I am currently using two phones, E71 and Acer Android (with 2.1). The first few weeks with Android, I felt like I can do just about anything, just about install zillion apps. But once initial rush faded, I realized all I ever need in a phone is being able to get emails and be able to write messages. And by another week, I realized having to recharge Android twice a day is nusciance. I also realized I don't need razzle-n-dazzle HTML email view, html view is nice to have but I can live with text view. Even after getting explosed to Android, iPhone's way of net connectivity, I still kept liking nokia's (cumbersome to some) way of connecting to net (like you can force some app to use wifi, some to use cellular net, and two apps can simultaneoulsy use wifi and cellular net). Well my fingers are crossed for new Symbain ^ 3 that Nokia has kept its legacy style intact. This is what makes it different from other OSes. Yes Nokia should compete with other OSes but I just wanted to all of you to know that there are still some people who likes Nokia's way of doing things.

ShameOnNokia, 02 Oct 2010LOL I've already made several comments about the N8 a while... moreCome on sh..head... not long ago you were playing Snake on 3310, or Tetris on Zx Spectrum and now is all about screen resolution, 600 mhz or 1 ghz.... you're funny. Galaxy S, N8, Iphone4... avarage user can't even turn one on or don't give a shit about what processor is using... THEY USE IT FOR STUPIT FARTING APPS or something like that :)
