Anonymous, 25 Sep 2010if what you wrote about the battery life of e71,n8 and n900... moreEh I don't know what you got that I was complaining about the E71, in fact I said that the E71 battery life is really good(my last nokia device that I actually loved). The N900 however had slightly less battery life than my Galaxy S. I barely used the N900 due to the horrible keyboard and the slow response of the resistive touch screen and yet at the end of the day I still had to charge the phone, no ifs or buts about it. I never mentioned the N8's battery life because there's no review on how well the device runs throughout the day. However I did mention that people should start comparing comparable phones before they mention the battery life. Look at the N8 specs hardware wise and compare it to the galaxy S, the galaxy S outmatches the N8 in hardware and I expect the N8 to not get much better life out of a charge than the Galaxy S which is a sad thing considered the significant difference in hardware. Its like saying a 4 cylinder engine only gets as good gas mileage as a V8.

em.. I think, we should not make story about the battery life now.. just wait until the phone is out. and, yes, actually, saw that nokia try to use lower battery nowadays. maybe just to reduce the cost. e7 is a good business device, for higher end consumer, they can afford to buy more hyper powerful battery if u want, let it be can last for 1 whole day of talk time IF u have nowhere to spend the money. maybe just to spread their range of consumer spread, they try to keep the cost lower by reducing battery life. just my opinion.. all phone manufacturer have their own strategy though..

I was pretty disappionted with the specs of the E7. As rumored, I was expecting it to be super AMOLED screen with 1gz (if not dual core like samsung in coming with..) and 8mp camera... Anyways, lets hope Nokia will come up with a updated version of E7 with the above features. Cheers!

Anonymous, 25 Sep 2010alot of guys like you've been complaining about n8/e7 batte... morebefore replying to comment how about taking the time to actually read it? I never complained about battery life, in fact my reply was towards someone claiming that Nokia is better than other phone manufacturers due to better battery life. In which i responded to the remark of my Galaxy S indeed lasting a full day without a need for recharge. How about you compare both phones then? Galaxy S vs Nokia N8/E7/N900? The Galaxy S has a higher clocked prcoessor consuming more battery, push gmail, and is constantly connected to a social network if you want to set it that way, yet it last just as long as any Nokia mobile media devices(E7 is not a mobile media device). How do you explain that? How many Nokia phones are using a prcoessor clocked at 1Ghz and above? None. So why does it get battery life only as good as a more powerful device?

It has the ability to have everything in focus beyond a certain distance. Meaning that you are not able to take close up and macro shots like you can with the N8. Read the article on mynokiablog about the E7.

And for those who says the N900 was fast, guess why it was fast? Nokia didn't use their regular cpu/gpu. The N900 had a version of the Cortex A8 which is the same SoC as Iphone 3GS and Samsung Galaxy S.

Crystal, 25 Sep 2010Yes it does have it, as indicated in the Nokia website. Thanks for clarifying things. According to Nokia's website you seem to to be right about native VoIP integration(as opposed to an Email which I recently received from a Nokia customer representative, stating that Noka is intent on "only improving its Skype integration".) I guess we'll have to wait and see for ourselves.

Like you, I also like this phone but I do have some understanding for all the people bashing on Nokia for failing to make their recent phones more user friendly and stable...take for example the N97 which was heavily advertised by Nokia before it was even officially released; almost two years later the OS is still laggy and sluggishly unresponsive, causing a lot of freezes and many other undesired actions including system crashes.

I seriously hope that Nokia will make things right this time with the new Symbian3 or Android will eventually destroy Symbian in the long run....

The E7 has full focus, or i.e Enhanced fixed focus. This more than adequate for a business device.

hayato, 25 Sep 2010Less than a day of battery life is not good enough. I re... more... really? Original? Wasn't it Nokia that dissed on apple for not having replaceable batteries? Guess what, Nokia N8 doesn't have an easily replaced battery as well. I don't know about you but I get a full day worth on my Galaxy S, thats with minimal browsing, tethering, and video play. The E71 gets good battery life but thats because you can barely do anything with it, have you seen any reviews with the N8 saying that it gets awesome battery life? So just because Nokia refuses to compete with a competent product they're "not following the crowd"? Seems more like to me that Nokia is merely relying on their brand name status more than originating themselves from everyone else. Guess what, that isn't working, profit numbers show this. If all you need a phone for is to make and receive calls then you have no need for the E7 or the N8, get yourself a Motorola RAZR those have awesome battery life. These phones aren't marketed as simple phones, they're marketed as fully functional mobile media devices with phone capabilities, and for the record the N900 couldn't go a full day without recharge either ;)
