Hi All,
I bought a Nokia E70 about 2 minths ago from a an online vendor in New York. Since it has not yest released in the US, it is teh European/Asian model. I have to say that this phone is awesome! Text messaging is great. 802.11g is great. Call quality is great (t-Mobile).
The downside is the lack of available software for s60 3rd edition, but the market is getting bigger and bigger.
Excellent phone! Only cost USD400.00.

Barry:
That sounds shady to me. You don't get any type of deskstands with this phone. He might be throwing something in that is aftermarket, but it's not in the original Nokia box. Also Western Union throws up a flag, but I don't know what the rest of the world has available to use since I just use PayPal in the US.

I'm anxious to get the E70, been reading all the cool comments here.
After weeks of net searches, I found a company in England that's selling the E70, unlocked and simfree, at a very low price -
- I'm a little dubious, but the company's registered with UKData Ltd., everything appears to be valid - the seller says he accepts Western Union transactions as payment, he seems anxious to move his goods - has written back to me twice, would like me to place my order...is he just using standard sales tactics here, or...? ? ? ?
He listed a buncha accessories that come in the box with the phone too (11 various items, deskstands, memory cards, headset etc) - that normal?
ANYONE out there have any really bad stories about ordering a nice new phone, then getting screwed?
Would love to hear any comments - should I order with this company???????

Fooooooolks, this is DA G-THANG or G-Spot, the cream of the mobile cell phones. At this stage, I'm the very proud owner of a N70 & N80 but this E70 made my jaw to hit the floor. After reading the GSM preview (today was my lucky day), I found that E70 does not have any equal. It provides with everything possible for the business, e-mail (Blackberry solution)on the go & entertainment (except the camera quality pictures not that good-but excellent video quality). A minor "ditch" but who cares when the phone is 99.99% perfect with amazing and user friendly features as ONLY Nokia capable to create and deliyer. Can not wait for my Vodacom contract renewal next month- I'm DEFINITELY GETTING THS BEAUTY !!!! to improve my NOKIA collection. Folks, we are the proud owners of true & proven Excellence and Refined Quality of the cell phone industry. Other manufacturers are trying tn take Nokia's example - but they will never come close even in 1000 years- 'Coz they CAN NOT! (my comments are typed and posted by using the amazing N80) but now, I can not stop thinking & counting the days left till next month.Wishing to fall in a deep sleep now and wake up then. Who can help me???? In the end, to ALL Nokia Lovers, NOKIA RULES worldwide! >>>>>> With Luv and Peace from S.Africa

The display is just superb!
the OS is sophisticated & typing messages/notes couldn't be better..
Browsing E70 mobile internet is the best experience I've ever had on a mobile phone.
a bit weighty though but it's worthwhile, and value for money (compared to N80)

As to how the keyboard holds up: I've never had a problem with any of the 6800 series. Mine has been thrown, dropped, smashed, ect, and it still works like the day I got it. I've been a fan of the 6800 series for a while.

being a regular sony owner, i can honestly say that the change was easy to make. this phone is by far the best phone i have had yet. it offers all of the features anyone could ever want. it doesnt matter if it's for personal use or for business, it's all there. no flash for the camera kind of suck though. other then that it's great. as for sony and motorolla handsets...around this price range i dont see any that are better. the k800 and 750 have way to many bugs and the keys break down. as for motorola...i dont think anything they make is great, from the featureless razr, to the radio-active slim.
oh and i think someone asked if it was durable. this phone is as durable as they come. no squeaks or creaks and the casing is a dull grey meaning the apperance of scratches and fingerprints is nearly non-existent unlike motorola's flashy phones.

Is this the 1st phone with voip?
This seems to be the way of the future including Skpe, well at least the way businesses will go towards in the next couple of years.
Apart from that all every consumer wants to know what is the RollsRoyce of mobile phones?
First of all, what company produces the best mobile phones?
Easy........ NOKIA
The only one that comes close is Sony Ericcson. But there phone appears to be directed towards the younger consumer market, ie Walkman range etc
Don't even mention Motorola, there design is starting to lack invention now. Samsung also look like they've run out of there own ideas.
Yes, Nokia are a cut above the rest. The technology crammed into these new mobiles is second to none & clearly lead the way in innovative design & technology.
So what Nokia mobile is best?
Well for me it was a straight up match between the E70 & the N80, but now with the arrival of the N95, there can only be one winner. The N95, 1st off:
- The bulkiness & weight of the N80 has gone.
- The Megapixels have been increased.
- The video recorder quality has improved 5
fold.
- HSPDA
- Quicker Bluetooth connectivity
- Quicker EDGE
- Built in Sat Nav
- Greater embedded memory & storage slot
In all a more superior mobile. A mobile PC it could be said. The only downfall for some may be the fact the N95 does not have QWERTY feature of the E70.
Furthermore, we can mention the E70's capability of providing the new technology VOIP. For me this technology may well be the way of the future or maybe not. It may just be another flash in the pan, just like the 3G streamlining technology, which was an excellent idea, but in hignsight never really grasped every consumer for 2 reason....
1. The Quality
2. The Cost
But this may be the 2 reasons why the E70's VOIP may succeed.

im not sure why immature replies are being posted in this thread. i guess it's time to post something good. to reply to the previous comment i have to say that this phone is NOT 800. it's right around 450. being a regular sony owner, i can honestly say that the change was easy to make. this phone is by far the best phone i have had yet. it offers all of the features anyone could ever want. it doesnt matter if it's for personal use or for business, it's all there. no flash for the camera kind of suck though. other then that it's great. as for sony and motorolla handsets...around this price range i dont see any that are better. the k800 and 750 have way to many bugs and the keys break down. as for motorola...i dont think anything they make is great, from the featureless razr, to the radio-active slim.
