Hi all.
I want to buy this phone. Is it stabile?
Is it better than N80 or N73?
Not about the features, or battery, this I know. About bugs, firmware, construction, signal and how reable it is.

      Cowboy, When I purchased the phone I needed to get a new sim. It would not work with mine, which was several years old. Maybe that's the problem. The fact that the T. Mobile salesperson forgot to activate my new sim didn't help either...

            I've had mine for a few days now, and although have not figured out most of it, it looks great so far (PuTTY works! ;-) ).

            I have a question which have been asked several times on this forum, but seems that it was not answered yet. Here in Vancouver I could only get a version from Hong Kong, with Chinese as the only alternative to English, but I would much prefer Russian. Does anybody know if it is possible to get other languages, e.g., "upgrade" to the firmware with different settings? I mainly need the inputting Russian characters capability and (maybe) fonts for emails/SMS (the browser does have the fonts), but the dictionary would be useful too.

              I have a big problem with my E70. I cant get my cell of Offline mode for it to pick up my sim. I cant get no signal because my e70 will not pic up my sim. Also I cant seem to complete the software update download for my cell. The phone is not lock and I;m thinking its a defect in phone. If any one had a similiar problem and might not what I could do short of sending it back to the manufactor it would be a big help!

              It has nothing to do with my service provider. I cant change the phone profile from off line. it just wont work. HELP PLEASE!!

                Just got the e70, its great but having a few troubles, if any one can help.

                1. having troble connecting via wifi/wlan, i can see the available connections but cant connect to them.

                2. cant seem to open any office documents ( word, excel files... also cant even open the spread sheet program.

                3. cant install any applications, or themes.

                very strange.
                please help if you can guys.

                  Hey all,
                  thought I'd chime in as an owner of a Nokia E70-2.

                  Firstly, it sucks that Blackberry Connect appears to still not be released for this phone. I thik I must have tried EVERY version for EVERY device and still haven't had success getting a connection between the computer and the device to configure it. Using 2.1.1.17 Nokia Desktop Blackberry Config tool. If anyone has any advice as to how to get an E70-2 to run any BBC software lmk.

                  Secondly, I'm successfully using SipGate, IPTEL and intermittently Gizmo as SIP/VOIP clients. I can make calls, haven't tested receiving. As far as quality goes, Sipgate seems to be the most consistent for a connection, and the quality of US-US calls even though they are a UK based company, seems the best. Calls to overseas have been scratchy at best with either of the three.

                  I've watched a couple of movies on it that I've downloaded as Divx/Xvid and converted to 3GPP using Super, quality is good.

                  my only peeves with the phone are:
                  1) No 3.5mm headphone jack. YOu have to use the Nokia pop port.
                  2) currently no Blackberry connect.
                  So, if anyone has any question, or wants me to test something out on it, (I'm not going to test coverage anywhere outside manhattan...) let me know and I'll do what I can.

                      This phone support 3G. Where is the camera to show your face. Is it one way video call.
                      (you can see others but they cannot see you)

                          after being extremely close to getting this phone on ebay or from several other online sites, i didnt end up getting this amazing phone and for that i am really both relieved and angry. just once, if love cingular to be able to make full use of some of the most amazing phones on the market. i would love to get this phone, however, the E70-2 has no umts and the e70 has no 850 band leaving me just royally mad. So, my next thing maybe id wait for is the N95, but, the US cant support hsdpa. i h8 my countrys cell service. if any1 has any ideas on a umts phone with the 850 band that is a smart phone with a camera non touchscreen id be in love with it. meh so i am a bit demanding.

                            Has anyone found a good (leather) case for this phone? I'm thinking of purchasing one that was made for the Nokia 6800 since the dimensions are very similar (e70 slightly smaller) and trying that out. Any ideas?

                              You can have the phone auto search (and display a little icon in the corner when it finds something) every 1, 2, 5, 10 minutes. But my expeience is this eats up a lot of the battery. But you can also check for wi-fi when you need it, either by opening a program (wed browser) that needs an access point and you can tell it to search, or though the connection manager, when you open the wan screen it will search.

                              What do you want to know? Yes the US E70 is offically out. It has been sicne Sept 8/9th, but for 2 weeks was only available in the Chicago or New York Nokia stores (where i got mine). It is now offered for sale through nokiausa.com, but they are out of stock. If I were you, I would check the e70 page everyday or go to a Nokia Store. This is the best QWERTY in my option. I am coming from a 6820 that I had for 2/3 years, and I don't like the other 'one piece keyboards' other phones have.

                              No I haven't done any VOIP, but it has screens asking for connection info. Sorry I can't help much. Look at the manual on nokia's site if you want to see what config info you can setup.

                                The us version E70-2 (850, 1800, 1900) does not support VoIP through www.truphone.com (the site for e-series phones), because of the old firmware on it and no way to upgrade it yet. On the other hand the "silver" E70 (UMTS, 900, 1800, 1900)upgraded to the new firmware does support the VoIP. Check it out...

                                  This is for Adam or anyone else who have used this phone for voip. Have you used VOIP on your phone? if so how did you use it? What provider? what software...etc.

                                    Does anyone have any USA release information. The phone was on the coming soon page, then I checked yesterdaya nd it wasn't. I was excited thinking it was released just to find the phone saying coming soon but they removed it from that page. I emailed them and asked about any information they might have about the US release and any possile carriers for this phone. They basically laughed in my face and said any info can be found here (as in the phones main page) That pretty much pissed me off because they couldn't say they don't know or can't tell. Are there any better qwerty key phones that compare to this? I've got a 6820 now I want that wifi and camera.... Anyone with info could you please email me or reply to this? Thanks guys.
