My phone has the May 15th software. May 30th software is on some phones, and presumably, they will continue to upgrade it.

Is there any way to upgrade the software on the phone, or am I stuck with the software I bought it with?

I have have used it for few months. I'm very satisfied although the battery runs out very fast. I have to charge it almost every night..

The camera is also good - both video and still shots can be taken with zoom. It also have night shot -mode, self timing mode and serial mode (it takes 6 pictures ).

The free active sync (ActiveSync For Exchange) with our Exchange also works fine after few days of struggle...

Just bought a 1GB card because it DOES NOT support 2GB. That's what they told me at Nokia.

        4/5 POINTS

            Hi All

I've had my E70 for just over a week and general impressions are pretty good. With practice the keyboard is getting really easy to use, the screen is awesome and web browsing is also really good.

On the downside, I have this phone from Vodafone and they have really struggled to make the email client work... they can't get the packet data connection working so they just send their own email client to you :-( Also, there is no blackberry support yet!! Nokia haven't finished the software... hopefully, this will solve the email issues, once it finally arrives.

I wrongly typed WLINK instead of WLAN in my posting. Sorry.

                  Archi,
I have the May 30 firmware and using WLINK at home. Just as Dev mentioned, I can load CNN.com fully and go to at most 2 other sites before memory problem sets in. However this is not always the case. I guess it depends on the contents of the page. I don't think the zoom level setting makes any difference.

Sounds to me that the "close application" is a Nokia thing because I have the same problem with my 9500. I need a back-up to my 9500 and was thinking of just getting another 9500, but they are phasing it out. What would you guys recommend between the E70 or the E61?

In US, the E70 is tri-band and could be a limitation, while the E61 resembles a "crackberry." Any thoughts?

A possible solution for the memory full issue:

                          http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/user_reviews.php?phone=836

It claims that cache cleaning could help the browser to load pages without the memory full problem.

                          Could someone please try!?

                              Hello Dev,

About the Yahoo e-mail. If I got your message right You are getting the memory full error message when loading Yahoo?!?

It might be the "standard issue" experienced by others too ith other pages but it can actually be another too. If you try G-mail, it will load as the "reduced" version on the E70. I tried that in the shop. And the reduced mode worked fine. I was also interested how all the fancy Java scripts wpould work, but probably Gmail was so "clever" that it noticed the capability of the prowser and reduced the page. Could it be that Yahoo is doing some sort of reducing too? That could also mess up the browser... My guess that it is the "standard" memory full issue...

Too bad that it is on the May 30 software version...

About the processor data and the RM-10 thing, You are right about the processor data, but in the table I saw this data was also listed. However it could be somethinbg else...

                                  To KK:

                                  Hello,
Which software version are you running?

Can you load CNN.com with the largest "zoom out" available?

This is also my major concern for me, but I asked Dev and according to him, the May 30 software can load a couple of CNN sites before having the memory problem.

I wonder if you have the May 30 software?

Are you using WLAN or GPRS or 3G?

I tested with WLAN only in a shop and many pages worked fine but some did not. One of those was CNN...

To everyone who is waiting for the black version. I've been using the silver version for a few weeks now and have also seen the black version 'in the flesh' so to speak (for some reason Nokia shops in the UK have black demo versions on display but you can only buy in silver). In my opinion the silver version looks much, much better than the black version when comparing real life phones rather than just photos on the web. Of course this is only my opinion but I'd say try and have a look at both versions if you can before making a decision. I know a lot of people are put off the silver version because they feel the numbers on they keypad/keyboard don't offer enough contrast, I think Nokia have solved that problem with the light-sensitive backlight on this phone but maybe others disagree.

Gerry: Have a look at the previous page of opinions, Dev has given a very detailed answer to your question there I think.

Will there be a solution to the memory limitation when browsing the web? I often get the "Memory full. Close some applications and try again" message. Except for the Web no other applications are opened! What else is there to close?
