I have been using the device since about 2.5 months. It met my expectations on almost all fronts. I would like to share the following 2 points
1) Firmware - Smart Search was not working. Nokia care center told me not available in the present firmware. Nokia PC suite did not return any upgraded firmware available. My firmware version is 100.07.76
2) Performance - The phone would freeze once about 2-3 days. Message SCAN on the memory card did not work and had to be cancelled. The memory in USE for messages could not be set to the memory card. Finally, the phone crashed and it erased all my messages. I decided to do a memory format. Most of the applications were erased including Sports Tracker, Games, IM, Yahoo GO, etc. But since then the above reported problems were ALL gone! No more phone freezes, I am able to get a memory SCAN output and the message memory in use is the memory card.
Appreciate useful experiences related to mine above by anyone.

Hi all. Just bought an E71 and currently in Japan. Can't get the 3G to work over here????? Any suggestions?

pls suggest if there are any themes available for the E71. the original themes suck.

Hi After reading so much good reviews on Nokia E71, really really really want to purchase one, the only draw back is E71 has not touch screen. Appreciate someone please kindly advise whether there is deficiency (web browser) when using E71 compare using smark phone wit touch screen like iphone, Samsung Omnia, HTC Diamond etc?

Hi, Any body tried the new updated firmware yet? It is just released! It is claimed that the update will improve the camera functionality. If anyone already tried the newest firmware, PLEASE let us know if there is any visible improvement of camera performance, and the other improvements felt by you! Thanks a lot in advance!

i just got the e71 some as i type this...i wanted a funtional phone that can do the basics. as a compulsive "texter" i wanted a very flexible phone.i hope i did not make a wrong choice as a phone iliterate i hope i have not made a wrong choice it took months making up my mind. does ithave microsoft tools or i have to install it?

Hey everyone.... Don't be lazy, read all the opinions from the beginning, all your problems solved, thats what i did. This phone is amazing.
Hotmail, gmail, your work, etc.... just use seven networks program, its free and amazing. Thats all you need seven, everything gets pushed even hotmail, don't have to pay 20$/year no nothing..... free means free....

Kareem, 09 Nov 2008You can not setup hotmail unless you are a subscribed to ho... moreThat's not right, I use my Hotmail account without any problem and I never paid any extra money.
To syncronize my Hotmail acount I just use the Windows Live app. that comes with the phone.
Just entered my user name and password, thats all.
