LindaR, 02 Oct 2008Hi everybody. I'm thinking of upgrading from my Nokia 6680... moreI have been using the E71 for a week and I can confidently say that it is perhaps the best mobile in the market today.
It has got almost every feature anyone would want packed into a slim and very elegant design. Slightly on the heavier side(125gm)but considering its made of solid steel, it can excused.
I have had no problems with any of its functions. The keyboard is pleasant to use. The display is brilliant especially in sunlight. Music quality is very good if you use a good headphone with an adapter(AD-50)(the provided headset is just average).
I find the camera quite good in good light conditions(night shots not satisfactory). Video is also good for a business phone.
The phone feels real solid in your hand and very ergonomically designed.
Internet browsing is excellent.
The icing on the cake is its terrific battery, which refuses to die even with heavy use.
Negative points:
1) No USB charging
2) No 3.5mm jack
3) Flash weak

how is the sound quality in headphones? nd wat sbout the speaker? is it loud? i liked the phone a lot nd planning to take it next week. thankx. e71 rocks!

I have been using my E71 for a week now and it seems to be OK. Its design is outstanding. You get looks of envy when you take it out of its pouch. Contrary to what I read about the small QWERTY keyboard, I find that it is not too bad. The keys have a raised middle part which makes it easier to press the keys .. I actually use my fingernails rather than my finger tips. Thus I can press the keys much easier and faster. Web browsing through 3G and WLAN are smooth and without glitches. Main complaint is the camera. Pictures are quite sharp except that the colour of the pictures tend to be too purplish or bluish, even in full sunlight. Using the LED flash for indoor pics to about 5 ft is OK but the same colour problem is there. Setting up email automatically can be a pain as it keeps setting up imap access instead of POP3. Wish that in a future upgrade Nokia will put in a better camera.

This is the phone because of which im proud of nokia. I was a little disgusted with n95 but still used it for 2 years and was sceptical of switching to e-series. the n96 is a big mistake by nokia which is yet to be realised... but this phone.........is just awesome...!!!!! only the camera could have been better or NOT THERE...

decision maker, 03 Oct 2008dear all, just want to ask does anyone know whether this ph... moreYes it does support Excel, Word and... but I'm not sure if you can modify them in your handset. What I know is this phone is very close to E51 (which I have) spec wise and I can't modify those files in my handset I just can view them. Reply to your second question, yes this phone is very capablity in organizer wise, it's the most complete phone in the market. I hope I was helpful.

met many users for E71.. most of them have this problem and that is dust enter the screen.
