e51 comes with a front camera and the e51 later released another version without a front camera leaving it to the consumer to choose what they wanted.

I dont see you mentioning the fact that this E71 does not have bbconnect, therefore making it nothing but a worthless piece of junk!!!

for instance, the e51 doesnt have a front video call camera n i make a lot of those types of calls

Next thing that was missing was a better camera. im not saying its the best camera, but a 3.2 megapixel, auto focus and an LED flash is enough for me since i am not much of a professional photographer.

The next improvement regardless of the qwerty keyboard is the bigger scren. im not complaining that the e51's screen is too small to surf the web. i was really satisfied with surfing the web with e51's 2" screen, but to think tht a 2.36" screen at your disposal on the e71 would be a treat.

i love the e71, but im waiting for the release of the e66. im gona get the e66. it looks damn good and it only has the specs to match its good looks.

ive stated the main differences between the e71 and e 51. its up to the individual preference of the users to determine whether or not they should upgrade their e51 to the e71. If it was up to me, i'd definitely get either the e71 or the e66 :) hope this helps.

How far better nokia E71 will be than E51, except qwerty and .36 images bigger screen, at double price? Will it be wise (or just foolish !) to upgrade to E71 from E51?
And even for a new buyer, considering the huge price difference, buying which one (between E51 & E71) will be a wise decision? Guys, please help me out! I am utterly confused !! Thanks a lot in advance.

Prosenjitz, 30 Jun 2008Hi, seen in a post in net that E71 is already selling in... morePlease see my earlier post regarding SAR.

SAR got nothing to do with the OS features. It is most related to the antenna power and its placement within the phone. Most of the later smartphones have a slightly higher value including the E71. This probably got to do with the need to support more transport frequency bands which we the users wanted.
How far away do you use your phone matters most?

                    Hi,

seen in a post in net that E71 is already selling in Mumbai at Nokia Priority Dealers at an MRP of Rs. 22,700!! Is it true?
And regarding SAR ISSUE, if the OS with Feature Pack 1 is responsible for high SAR Count, should we avoid the phones with this FP-1? Advice please.

Edwin, 27 Jun 2008@sue, if this phone is soooo good how come the E61i had bb ... moreThe BB connect in E61i has been replaced by the built-in GPS tog with the A-GPS function not forgetting the FM radio. In my country, we do not need a BB connect phone to connect to Blackberry. In actual fact, the BB connect allows to you access Blackberry from our local network services with the use of non-Blackberry phones. So now do you prefer d BB connect or built-in APS? Maybe Nokia has change it in view of this. Go and half a look at the E71 in the phone shop. I assure you will fall in love with it at first sight as many have done. Good Luck!

Anonymous, 29 Jun 2008Nokia Fans: Two SE fans (2Ams, PGcX) keep giving me hard t... morePointing out the issue of SAR is a good reminder to all. However, there are many phones with similar values like E71. Actually the E71 and E51 actual RF is not that high but these models have the antenna position nearer to the earpiece.
For user, the real issue is how much you TALK on the earpiece for the phone. The answer to this question is user dependent and phone dependent.

A music player phone is heared thru the headphone so it is where on your body you pocket it which matters. As SAR really measures the harm of the RF on body issues next to it.

A bluetooth earpiece has much little SAR so it is probably a good investment for users with long conversation.

My E51 to me is more of a surf/email/text device so I am not worried about placing it near my body.

I think it is pointless to debate about just the SAR values without thinking about how one uses the device because obviously today the cellphone is no longer just a phone for talking but a multi-function device.

It is significant the difference between low or high SAR value phones.
                                RF causing not only tumors!
E71 is a small microwave oven - the decreased power like 0.7 W/Kg makes a huge difference.

But, you know in the 50´s and 60´s or even 70´s some people argued that smoking has no unhealthy effects.

In the 80´s same thing with second-hand smoking.

Today, I hope it is obvious this issue.

If you want you can wait a few decades, but for many people it is obvious and proven that around Ghz frequencies extremely harmful.

But, you have the freedom to ignore the facts - for a while at least until they catch up with you.

                                Just to be fair :)

                                  Nokia Fans:
Two SE fans (2Ams, PGcX) keep giving me hard time at the G900 forum. I have made the point that some of the SE phones SAR value is high.

They upset that I did not inform you about the E71 SAR value. So here are the values.
They promised to come over :) - be nice to them! Have a nice day!

To be fair and nice here are the numbers:

                                  To all potential users:

The several studies demonstrated that RF by cell phones significantly increases the chance of tumor growth and SAR values make a different!

                                  SAR values:

                                  Nokia E71 1.40 W/Kg

                                  Sony Ericsson
                                  G900 1.39 W/Kg
                                  C902 1.34 W/kg
                                  W890 1.37 W/kg

                                  N95 0.4-0.6 W/Kg
                                  Samsung i900 Omnia 0.70 W/kg

The difference between phones 50-100% or even more!!!!!

That means some phones are 100% more ´toxic´-saying it simply!

US legal limit is 1.6W/kg - SE values are pretty close to legal limits. And you can be sure that the limit was influenced by the cell phone lobby - not too low!!!!!

                                  Have a nice day! :)

The E71 is better in most aspects, but the fatal (and utterly stupid) decision made by Nokia to use a much smaller display makes me look elsewhere for my next phone. In the 3-3.5G wireless world, video services is of the utmost importance. I expect to use my phone for mobile TV and video conferences, not to mention viewing e-mail attachments (word, excel, powerpoint, ...) A display of 3" or above is essential!
