This phone is trying to close the gap from just phones and Fairphones with its much better repairibility that is very good news.
Of course Fairphone is miles ahead of Nokia but nokia is again miles ahead of ANY other phone company at this moment.
Just a good phone G42 for a good price now improve sustainability and software updates policy. I have Fairphone 4 but it's way more expensive than Nokia G42 for obvious reasons but if one doesn't have that money to spend I say Nokia G42 is good alternative.

FIH has reduced business with HMD for obvious reasons and not vice versa. Jean, the co-founder and current CEO at HMD, has a very close relationship with Foxconn; that's how HMD happened in the first place. Ginko Ventures, Jean's investment company and a significant investor in HMD, also has Foxconn as its key partner.
And FIH has not stated anything except the facts. Since they are an investor, they are obliged to disclose the performance of the companies where they invest and since their investment in hmd is a significant one, they need to tell their investors (public) about how good or bad the performance there is. HMD can easily sue FIH if they were publishing any factually incorrect information. But the information provided by FIH clearly matches with what's happening at hmd.

At this price, we expect more than what feels like a 75hz touch sampling rate 🤣🤣 Even the oppo low budget £180 phones come with 180hz touch sample rate as minimum. The honor x8a & moto g53 have 240hz touch sample rates both are priced same.
HMD is a total joke at this point. They make a repairable phone that's supposed to last a few years to prevent e-waste, yet jam in the most basic mundance low rate specs & expect people to use it for next 3 years! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This phone has worst display. So bad to type on n send messages. Too many errors happen. Doesn't register touches properly all the time and this becomes very frustrating. Like everyone else said already, they've used very cheap low quality display in this g42. G60 is much more nicer to type messages on. They should have used same quality display as g60

My review: First i got the 4gb version from local store. Was laggy, multi tasking & touch response not good. I returned & refunded. Then got 6GB purple directly from nokia website. Much Better multi tasking & performance.
Screen not perfect. Still slow touch response on standard mode. Screen color very cold & blue. White balance not help. Contrast low. Purple version very nice look & feel. Battery life very good. Fast opening closing app speed & good performance. Gps good. Sound quality speaker not good but not worst.
Basic camera. No eis/ois in video. Does basic job but don't have high expectation.
I Happy I can change battery myself. Main reason I got. It is good basic cheap phone for my basic needs. I give it 7/10.
DO NOT GET 4GB model. You will have bad experience. Get 6GB model only.

Returned mine for full refund within 48 hour.
Awful awful phone. Cheap feeling. Lagged. Slow touch response. Awful sound. Slow charge. Awful ram management.
I will now wait for G70. Hope it is much better
