Yes i can do that but that will cost more if i buy both, which don't look good for short term but long term yes that strategy would be good as if my family lives forever then mobile devices are not going away soon.
Those tools can be used to repair whenever anyone's phone needs repair.
But all those things looks smooth on paper and dream.
In real life they are complicated.
If nokia's strategy goes succesful then people like you and me will get benefits from it.
But i don't think nokia makes any components at all.
They will bring components from china most probably.
So, don't know about the future of nokia.

I use a samsung device and it has a fast charger which has print - MADE IN INDIA.
But strange is the USB TYPE -C cable's metal pin has print - VIETNAM.
The overall package has print - MADE IN INDIA.
But i don't think mobile companies are transparent at all, so don't believe those marketing stunt.

I paid 200 euro back then in December of 2018, it got 2 OS upgrades, 3 years of security patches, it has a glass front and back, the feel in hand is way more premium than for that price was expected. The chipset was good enough to make it very smooth in daily use. Money well spend when I look back at it, and it actually is still in use.

nice now make g52/g62 or other and make the best buget phone like the slightly older 5 series nokias which used to be best cheapest phone like xiaomi then 5.4 got slightly weaker and a little ugly then 5 series disapeared

MakeNokiaGreatAgain, 30 Jun 2023G42 = Repairable, recycled. G400 isn't.Technically they are both repairable.

The bigger difference is that the G42 is easily user repairable, has more storage and can have up to 6GB of ram, while the G400 has much better cameras and a much better screen.

jpn4, 30 Jun 2023pretty much the same, but the G400 is for the US marketG42 = Repairable, recycled.
                G400 isn't.

What will be the co... moreIt's not a marketing stunt, it's an absolutely brilliant idea that Nokia / HMD came up with. If this idea came from Chinese makers you would be drooling over it. What are the components that need replacing most of the time? Charging port, battery, screen, crackled back cover, audio jack. These components do not cost that much, and the brilliant thing is, you don't have to send your device away and wait for weeks to get it repaired. You repair it at home in an hour or so. You don't have to pay for repairs either. That is what brilliant about it. Nokia phones are renowned for longevity and this brilliant stunt, as you call it, adds up to Nokia's longevity fame.

Carol, 29 Jun 2023Why don-t you buy it from amazon.com or whatever amazon is ... moreWell, Amazon and most of the popular marketplaces do not ship to my location. Some sort of a workaround is needed to get anything shipped here, which I may try with a cheaper C Series Nokia model. The local marketplaces do not have Nokias, save a couple of basic Nokia feature phones. A little bit more info and I would be giving away my location, which I'd rather not. I like privacy and secrecy online. Anyhow, I prefer physically testing and comparing phones in my hand before I buy them. The thing is, I make up my mind at the last moment in the shop, the exact model I am going to buy. Will it be X30, XR21, G60 or maybe Nokia releases an affordable flagship soon, and I'll buy that. For now, I am leaning towards XR21, and saving some dough.

What will be the cost to repair?
Answer - prbably between 10 to 50 percent of the phone's price.
At 10 to 25 percent cost some people will repair as they do with other phone.
At 25 to 50 percent cost they will think again and again - is repair justified or not ?
