This phone is worse than mine - Xiaomi Redmi 10C.
Compared to it, this Nokia phone is:
- 1.5 year younger
- slower
- more expensive than my phone was even at launch
I see absolutely no reason for anyone to buy it, it's a ripoff. Before my Redmi 10C, I had a Nokia 3.1 Plus from 2019 until 2022 and that phone just got worse and worse.
First it was on Android 8 and was OK. Then it was on Android 9 and was slower even after complete reset and wipe. Then it was on Android 10 and became even slower. Then Nokia released some update that broke notifications for everyone on the planet with that phone and they did not fix it for almost a year.
What's worse is my phone had an aluminium frame and back and over time it got slightly but permanently bended and I could not straighten it again so now it doesn't rest on all 4 corners when face down on a flat surface.
After that experience, I made up my mind to never buy a Nokia phone again. Right now I think Xiaomi makes the best and most high value for money budget and midrange phones, at least some are. Some are recycled trash from old phones and people should look out for those, but even among them, there are some real gems like Redmi 10C, which I bought for $140 when it released. If I ever see such a good Xiaomi phone in the future when my current one gets old, I will not hesitate to buy it.

Anonymous, 06 Jul 2023Price now is £199.00 so not to bad l think for a back up ph... moreMy 1st android price was within 100 USD and used it from 2013 to 2015.
2nd one was within 100 to 150 USD and used it from 2015 to 2020.
3rd is within 150 to 200 USD and using it since 2020, has no plan to buy new untill 2025.
My average bill is within 50 USD per year on 1 prepaid sim card.
Don't spend more money on your phone guys.
Save and invest on your future, try to do that.
Stay happy.

Anonymous, 06 Jul 2023Price now is £199.00 so not to bad l think for a back up ph... moreThe G60 is retailing for the same price here in the UK, which makes it difficult to recommend the G42.
With a small price reduction I think it has the potential to sell well in the budget phone market, especially as I see a lot of customer reviews of Nokia-branded phones where people are only now upgrading from devices like the 5 year-old Nokia 3.1 for example.
While tech hobbyists who comment on this site may upgrade every year, the target market for this kind of phone do actually use their device for at least 3 years or more.

If a device have android 13 i see the lowest spec required to run the OS by GOOGLE.
Then i check the lowest vs midium vs high end priced phone available in market in 2023 or so.
Then i decide which one to buy based on cost to longivity, like how many year i can use it without any problem that force me to buy a new one again.
Mainly i want to use my phone for at least 3 year to maximum 5 year lifespan.
If it survies after 5 year i will continue to use it but frankly speaking my phones stay alive after 3 to 5 year but the android version goes old and thus i can't install new updated version of same apps on old mobiles.
I'm an android user since 2013 and used only 3 android phones including my current one from 2013 - 2023, average 3 year per phone.
I used my 1st phone from 2013 - 2015, 2nd one from 2015 - 2020, 3rd one from 2020 - still using untill it becomes useless.
I don't like to spend more and change my phone within short time because it is inconvinient to me.

This could work as a great second phone. If not maybe a Samsung or Motorola. My opinion on this though

Carol, 04 Jul 2023Most probably, one can still uninstall them via adb.If that's possible, it's great.
I don't think it's possible now unlike what Samsung used to do with TouchWiz

DarlingYext, 04 Jul 2023"..Bixby and other samsung crap, you just can't.&... moreI use adb to uninstall crapware,, with adb you can pretty much uninstall everything for the curent user (sadly not entirely from the system itself). Somebody in my family was gifted a Samsung A45 or something like that. I could uninstall a part of bixby crappware, but when i tried to delete everything, the menu started to be unstable and the whole device was suddently full of warnings and some apps did not open, yatta yatta yatta. So it forced me to install those perticular services to get it to work again, sadly i do not know what that was anymore, but was a part of bixby spyware group😑
