Before making the g42 purchase this past weekend, looked over all of these remarks on here. I was initially apprehensive due to some of the poor feedback, but I decided to take the chance because I adore pure Android, it's less expensive than a pixel, and the specs appear to be adequate. Since I started using the phone on Saturday, I've found it to be somewhat underwhelming. Definitely a screen-related issue. Simply said, it feels sluggish and unresponsive and does not react quickly to touches. The lengthy battery life, stock android, and surprisingly respectable sound speaker output are the benefits. However, the laggy touch issue makes utilizing messaging applications like WhatsApp, Snapchat, and Telegram rather troublesome and disheartening. I wonder if a software update will be able to remedy this? Is there anybody that knows if this is possible or is this a hardware issue?

    Nokia G 42 is almost like Xiaomi Poco M5 in different G99 4G VS SD 480+ 5G

                This does look like an hmd phone branded as nokia . there is no logo on front bezel , the wallpaper is animated , all other nokia phone have actual natural organic photo as wallpaper . nokia is ded guys , this time for good . buy fairphone or asus or sony .

Take what you want and leave the rest or leave everything. To be precise, even our Earth is nothing in this Universe though our Ego and desires are bigger than everything in this Universe. Hence, what I shared here is nothing as you've said. After all, it is just about the money you expend on this device. No one will go poor if they purchase this device. Hence there is nothing wrong to purchase this device or any device in the market. Above all, Money is a Thing which has to be expended without which it has no value. Good luck.

                          Serious flaws with g42. There is 100% problem with the display. It doesn't always respond fluidly to taps and touches. Sometimes having to tap twice for a response. It ruins the entire experience as everything else is ok. I'm already returning it back to nokia. Called them today and have arranged a return and refund. At least they were very good and quick arranging the refund.
                          But i can't recommend g42. Sorry

To be honest, I LOVE Google's Pixel devices too, for the same reason. My remarks are not to destroy the brand NOKIA but, about ethics. At the same time we have to admit that we get and will only get for what we pay. In Europe and USA the comparative prices are higher than the devices that employs inferior displays which are catered to countries where the device is priced lesser. I admit that it is the competition that drives every action of every manufacturer, except devices of Apple because, they enjoy a monopoly.

                            As you've asked for, only few people like from AnandTech know about manufacturer's identities who supply displays and different hardware parts to different manufacturers of mobiles around our Globe. Rest of the public aren't aware about the identities of manufacturers of individual hardware parts and it is difficult to find it out just by looking at the display or other hardware parts, even if the device gets disassembled. We only know about the manufacturer of processor. All these information aren't made available to public except displays (Brand) employed by some flagship devices and devices of Apple. Generally, people know that it is a display manufactured by Samsung, if the display is an AMOLED display. If it is stated that it is an OLED, it means that it could be a display of LG. There are also plenty of generic displays from China which match the display specifications of every device available in the market. We call it as OEM displays. Generally, OEM displays are not the original displays supplied by respective mobile manufacturers though, it could be the case.

                            To be precise, no one including myself care about the manufacturer's identity of individual hardware parts. We look at the mobile and judge the quality of the mobile. Most of us say that a mobile is good, if the display and the build quality is good. To put it more precisely, we don't need these information. What we expect in general is that the mobile's display should look pleasant and the mobile should perform the way it has to be for a couple of years or more. To say a mobile is Good or Bad depends on the individual tastes and preferences of different consumers. A mobile which is Good to me need not be Good to you.

                            Coming to actual point of your question, to know the difference between the quality of displays which are employed by the same device and which are catered to different countries, one has to purchase and compare the same device from different countries. If you are interested, you can find the answer for yourself by doing it. Good Luck.

                                Can you specify what type of display/ other products are installed that are different between Asian and European counterparts?

                                  THE fact is that product quality differs between countries. If you buy this mobile from Europe or USA it will be really good. Display quality differs because, the same device uses different brands (quality) of displays with the same specifications from different manufacturers to cater different countries. The same applies to every hardware part but, can't be judged because, they aren't visible from outside. Education, knowledge and growth has no meaning because money has started to dominate everything that surrounds us. Somehow everyone survives by making compromises.
